What's to stop an atheist from saying that bestiality is wrong?

You can say it's strange and messed up, but if you're with a pet, and you both show affection with each other, how can you say that it is MORALLY wrong?

Weird? Yes. But not INHERENTLY wrong.

You need God to have absolutes.

This is where morality comes from.

And, if you answer this question, don't DODGE the question. Don't say things like, you're weird, or that's a stupid question.

ACTUALLY answer it.

for the wonderful cosmetic job it has done on us humans. I am so thankful to evolution for the small of a woman's back and her waist/hip diffrential (so crucial in survival) and oh yes, the wonderful, almost surreal look of a puppie's face. I also want to thank evolution for the diversity in nature. The look of non-medicinal flowers and the different tastes and looks of fruits and veggies is also so critical to our survival. oh, the music is playing! did I forget anyone? thanks evolution!!! =)

I've been doing a lot of thought lately.

I want to pull out a fast for myself, to help me meditate in different ways, however, I'm worried about a few things.

1. How much water am I allowed a day?
2. How long is safe?
3. I'm fat, but losing weight. Will it cause me to put on more weight when I am done?
4. Can I safely exercise while fasting?
6. [This is no joke] In a fast, am I allowed to masturbate, or must it be total deprivation?
7. Will this actually help me understand my spiritual self?

Also, if you have anything else to say, please, do.

Note: I'm not a Muslim

We have a number of local restaurants here which seem to be owned by semi-literate country persons. The paper menus are full of amazing misspellings ("mash potatoes"; "french frys"), and I like to correct them with a pen while I wait for the waitress to take my order.

Is this rude, or is it more in the way of a public service?

Thanks!

in the Bible it shows in the footnotes all the differences from one manuscript to another. the Catholics have more books in there Bible, the protestants have less. i have noticed that Christianity is almost identicle to paganism.

the Koran has scientific proof in it such as the world is round, embryology, geology, cosmotology. in the Koran it is written that the sun rotates. there is so much proof in the Koran that scientists are embracing Islam. there is no way that Muhammed knew those things.

there is even prophecy about Muhammed in the Bible. this verse describes Muhammed when he toke over Medina with 10 thousand of his followers and gave the people the law.

Deu 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand [went] a fiery law for them.

who else could this prophecy be refering to?

Christians what is your advice?

It was all very well documented in some movie by Martin Scorcese based on a non-fiction book in so much as the the Bible is non-fiction.

A couple Sundays ago, I arrived at Church just as the minister was speaking, the only empty seat was the front row. After service, Pastor came up to my family and apologized for there not being enough seats. I quickly piped up, "Yes, some people always have to have the back of the Church, the front of the bus and the center of attention." He asked me to repeat it, I'm sure I will find it in the bulletin some time soon. I love my Pastor.

no im not an athiest. but i have not made up my mind about anything so far. why are people religious?

1. do they fear life itself would be pointless since we are all going to die within say 100 years or so.
2. have they been brainwashed to believe that there is a HELL, and they dont want to go to hell.
3. or is it just a hope, every one here answer truthfully have you ever seen an angel, or a demon. has god every really talked to you.
so why do you keep believing.

i mean the univererse is so incredibley large. 1 human being (no matter who he/she is) is so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. what seperates us from the animals. we are the dominant species on the planet.but that is cause we are smarter than the rest. So why are we going to heaven/hell and a dog is not. because we have a soul.
the biggest question in the entire universe would have to be what happens when you die. the muslims that crashed into the towers on 9-11 thought they were right. religion?

In trying to determine self-will from Gods will in prayer (say, when trying to determine a plan of action) Einstein said that the answers that come from God would be easy.

However - lately for me, the only "easy" path leads to doing nothing. I have been paralyzed by indecision and just plain not knowing what to do - - and my life has been stuck in a rut for sometime. How then, does one determine the "easy" path? Any suggestions?

The guy across the street is hyper-active, makes lots of noise, and seems arrogant and self-centered. Weeks ago, a neighbor (apparently anonymous) complained about his "excessive noise", and he was cited. Long story short, he thinks it's me, because I did ask him to keep it down (leaf blower at 8 a.m. on Saturday). Tonight, he accused me of spitting on his car, and said, "this is war!" . I told him that I didn't have anything to do with the spitting, nor the police report, but he has it in his head that I did. I looked at the police report, but all it said was that "a neighbor" complained. I'm thinking of moving away from this bozo, because I don't want to live in this kind of harsh atmosphere. The surrounding neighbors seem oblivious to the noise, or at least only one of them has said anything about it. Thoughts?

Blacks and whites are referred to as a color but every other race is refferred to as a nationality or some other generic term, like asian and latino. Shouldn't we all be referred to as american? If we were, do you think that it would help racism in our country? And I know that blacks are formally referred to as african american and whites are refferred to as caucasians, but in general conversation it's usually black and white. I don't know about you but my skin isn't white. I usually go from a peachy color in the winter to a deeper olive tone in the summer. And my friends aren't really black, they all have really pretty chocolate and caramel tones. In fact, I have had summers I have been darker than some of my lighter caramel toned friends. Is it more of a mindset? I just think that the terms came from when they were integrating and wanted to define differences. So shouldn't we put those terms behind us?

I think Black History Month is very inspiring. Back then black people weren't treated with respect and they didn't have that many opportunities and yet they still accomplished great things.

Also, why does everybody complain about Black Hisotry Month when nearly every race has there own history month? Everyone except white people.

Do you like living where you are? whats the weather, people, atmosphere? big or small? safe? Im just curious to get peoples perspective from all over America! Whats it like on a day to day basis? Details would be appreciated!
you DO NOT have to tell me the city name if you dont want to....but please give me a region or say "near Miami..." something like that..... Thanks in advance!

Where I live: a small town about 45 min. from Los Angeles. The weather is amazing. we average 75 degrees most days of the year but change quickly- one day its hot, the next its windy, stormy and raining. Its generally very safe, low crime rate. 20 min from the beach. I love the atmosphere and people are VERY friendly.... tight knit community (which can be a good or bad thing....everyone knows everything about everyone...) when walking into a supermarket, you are like to know at LEAST 5 or 6 people. and the cashiers remember your name. population: 33,000. How about you?

I often hear xtians say that the bad and evil are cause by lack of God in peoples lives and question how those who don't believe in God can have morals and ethics (this is asked at least once a day on YA!)...so I'd like to turn it around and find out exactly why someone would think belief in a God is a necessary component for living good, moral, ethical, decent, lawful lives????

Sorry if this is asked a million times, it didn't show up in search, but I only see it asked rhetorically in answers the the xtian questions, not as an answerable question.

I had a dream in which there was a white unicorn with a very long, I mean, long horn. I recall looking at the aminal's head to ensure there was only one horn. The horn had a gold rim round where it began in the head. I don't recall what a unicorn stands for. Perhaps I could interpret the dream
