Is it wrong to think like this?

I happen to follow the Buddhist teaching and I feel that Jesus was a being of compassion. Many Buddhist, including me, feel that Jesus was another Buddha or Bodhisattva. The misconception among many Christians is that those that are not Christian hate Christ. I don't hate Christ. His messege was very similar to Buddha's messege. Can everyone in the world forget about religion and start focusing on loving one another?

Paul writes to the churches, "But when God who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace was pleased to reveal his Son in me ... I did not consult any man nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles..." Galatians 1 15:17

In Luke, Jesus says,"But seek his kingdon, and these things will be given to you as well" Luke 12 31

After two and a half years of bible college I joined the Army to get more money for my college. I am now deployed and not able to go to Church. I do not know any Christians and am struggling to stay pure when every one around me is involved in immorality and lewd behavior... Help!

To Muslims.

Why big aggressive protests against the Danish cartoons turning violent for which people were killed, or storming the offices in indonesia of an indonesian version of 'Playboy'

Or say in Nigeria 200 people were killed over a quite frankly boring miss world cometition and a joke that Mohummed would have dated a miss world contestant.

But no massive protests, burning and attacking embassies, storming jails, calling for mullahs to be killed over things like

Teenagers executed or on death row for making love, where they will be killed by the most brutal, slow & painful ways.

Wheres the outcry over gays being executed and flogged?
Those killed over the miss world competition. Honour killings, FGM, forced arrange marriage, child marriage etc

I've lived in Dublin for the past 4 odd years, but have now returned to London. Although the majority of people I met were really safe and friendly, there was always some tw@t who'd hear my accent and carry on about the stuff England's done to Ireland as if I were Oliver Cromwell's/Henry VIII's son. I'm not trying to make out as if any of the terrible things England did to Ireland didn't happen, but at the end of the day it wasn't me that did those things. It just seemed that I couldn't ever go out without it being brought up at least once a night.

I went over feeling very Irish and proud to be so, and returned feeling 100% English.

And I'd appreciate real answers as opposed to the usual Brit insults.

Thanks.

I have noticed many STUPID people replying to questions that involve politics, race, religion, and other topics that seem to be way over their head..... Just saw a post that said "was saddam being hanged by george bush fair"? you have got to be kidding me, if that was an american that wrote that, then im ashamed to live here...

Surely this is reason not to trust faith in the first place.

It is the argument you use against abiogenesis
Millers theory( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miller-Urey_experiment ) is much more sensible than man coming from dust

From a Buddhist perspective, truth about life is all around us and only a good heart and a trained mind can see it. Buddhism is one of the only religions that I have seen that doesn't have a central holy book. The closest thing is the Tripitaka. But even that is seen as not being central. Buddhist feel that there is no need to have truth written down on paper. Its so real that writting it down is a reflection of "truth" and not actually "truth?" Why do other religions feel the need to have a central holy book. Are thier minds so unenlightened that they cannot see the universal truth with their own minds and hearts?

hi all. I think when people give others thump down they should explain why so you know why you've received the negative feedback. I wonder every time I get a thump down why did I get that for? I know you're going to say that I probably give the wrong answer to some people and this and that but hey personally I would like the people that gives me thumps down to explain why I was given that score... what do you guys think?

Thanks for your Ideas.
