I've noticed several postings from Christians (usually in response to Jesus' return and are they ready) that say things to the effect of "Yes, I can't wait, I hate this world" or "Yes, I can't wait, this world is so awful." Is life really that terrible for some of you? What makes it so? Really, I'm completely baffled by this. I've got 15 years left on my student loan, 3 years left on my car loan, live in a dinky apartment, have a chronic illness that some days causes me severe pain, and I'm having a fabulous time. What makes this world so terrible for those of you that feel it's better for your messiah to return and end the world than it is to get up in the morning and take in the beauty of another day? I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'd just like to know why you feel that way. Thanks!

I have read a lot of judgemental questions today on yahoo answers. Telling people that if they have tattooes they are going to hell or if they do anything wrong. Jesus died for us because we are not perfect. Our flesh is sin therefore we sin from birth with our thoughts and actions.

Okay. I'm a Christian... but I don't understand how Catholics pray to a dead person (Mary). Someone on the board said she is the closest way to talk to God. Why not talk to God directly? After asking him about this, he then said it was like asking Mary to pray for us or to help us pray like when we ask our friends to pray for us. But Mary is dead!!! How can she help us? Help me understand.

I am not even talking business ethics, but plain and simple values - if "I don't like your product and it fails to satisfy my requirements for which it was purchased, I want my money back"

Such a simple language, but companies don't like to understand it - today itself, I wanted a refund of $14.40 on a domain transfer from a website company and was given such a rude customer service, A month back, I purchased a camcorder from one of the largest Electronics showrooms in the country which turned out defective and they haven't paid me till date.

Imagine reversing the scenario: if you stop paying your credit card bills for 3 months, would these (ahem) companies be gracious enough to let you off without harm?? No, they would sue your a*s*s.

The disciples of The Messian are exhorted to "love not the world or it's things" for "the WHOLE world is under the control of the evil one"....... And The Messiah testified that "those of this wicked world would hate His disciples just like they hated Him" ;-(

The disciples of The Messiah were to be "in, but not of, the world"
indeed!

First of all, the bible blames Eve for all the sins in the world.

Then, the bible has all these rules about women being "unclean" and forced into seclusion during menstration.

Then, the only woman that Jesus hangs out with is (at best) a loosey goosey, and (at worst) a downright sl ut.

But women never seem to mind how they are portrayed in the bible.

Why is this?

These are the things she has done so far: She always stays at her boyfriend's apartment every night, which is fine. However, she comes home every morning at 5 or 6 AM to take a shower, brush her teeth, and change. Whenever she comes back, she slams the front, room the bathroom, and the closet doors, even if it is 5 AM. She turns on ALL the lights when she gets into the room, but never turns off any of them when she leaves. When she cooks in the kitchen, she leaves dirty pots and dishes on the counter and stove, with food still stuck on to it. After several days, when she finds time to clean them, she just dumps them into the dishwasher without rinsing the dried food off first. The dishes come out with food stuck on to it. She only uses the dishwasher for her own dishes, even though there are only 5 dishes in there and everyone shares the bills. She took back everything she brought to share, but continues to use the things everyone else brought. What can I do?

I have done extensive research over the years so I do know that what I experience is not ESP - as I do not have the feeling that I have been there before. This has happened since I was 11. I will have a dream and in that dream, there will be a moment of something simple in life – example is I drop a fork at a café I have never been to. Then 6 months after the dream I will be having lunch at a cafe I have never been to and drop a fork and realize that I am living a moment (same café, fork, etc.) I dreamt about 6 months before. I have yet to find anyone that has experienced this and there seems not to be any words for what I experience. These “moments” are never something major – very small, everyday things but it usually is with places and people I have yet to go to or meet.
