Question

Some people need to take a little breather from Yahoo! Answers. They take it WAY to seriously, don't you think?

Do you think God would approve of such behavior? Hmmmmmmmm? Hehe.

I am referring to one or two posts I received from my questions. I do appreciate people's views and hearing their side of the story, but I don't appreciate being preached at. But hmm, maybe that's to be expected in this particular section of Y!A!.

You know...you're right. This forum can make you crazy. I am going to take your advice, go grab a shower, ship that computer, pick up a few groceries, and come back later. Good call.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not just here for the social aspect. There are way too many uninformed individuals asking too many unethical questions but you just have to ignore them to the best of your ability.

You just have to pick and choose which questions to give any attention to.

If you need to take a breather, you go right ahead and do it. Come back when you feel better.

The people that need to take the break are the ones who simply come here to try and harass. Fortunately I realise this is a display of desperation. I can appreciate a joke but what I see in here is more like bigotry.

I'm with you. I asked a somewhat tongue-in-cheek question and got attacked with villagers with torches and pitchforks. And I've seen far too many Q&S's taken apart because people misinterpreted what was said. It seems like if anything can be taken the wrong way, it is, like people are looking to be offended, like Al Capp's version of Berkeley students, who he called "S.W.I.N.E." (Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything!). Some people need a time out and to take a happy pill.

I have read some really mean answers here. But I have also read some very profound, kind and thoughtful ones too. I guess it's easy to be what you want to be here. There is no shyness, or embarrassment, no one to give you a slap, and you can't see hurt on others faces. All the more reason to chose your words carefully I think. People need to be more personally responsible here.

God loves to laugh, which is why he invented humans, who invented the internet and Yahoo.... Whenever God is bored with all the heavenly angels playing the same old boring alleluiahs on their celestial harps, he whizzes down to a cyber cafe, check out Yahoo Answers and has a great laugh

When I see the religious of the world impeding the progress of science, and education because of their belief in some hokey myth that was created thousands of years ago and perpetuated to this day by choosing ignorance over intellect I tend to take it seriously.

Actually, people take religion as something not serious at all, and this disturbs me. People are willing to base their lives on a book they've never studied or properly considered, and wars, genocides, hatred, ignorance, and prejudice are created. How can theism be taken so lightly when it is so destructive?
