Since Keith Ellison, a Black American convert to Islam, used the Quran owned by Thomas Jefferson in his recent swearing in ceremony, some people believe Jefferson owned the book because he believed in the contents.

But was this the case or did he own the book to "know his enemies" better?

Here is a quote from Joseph Wheelan's book, "Jefferson's War: America's First War on Terror," in noting Jefferson said, "Too long, for the honor of nations, have those Barbarians been [permitted] to trample on the sacred faith of treaties, on the rights and laws of human nature!"

This was after this:
Sampley writes when Jefferson was ambassador to France, and Adams was ambassador to Britain, they met in London with Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the ambassador to Britain from the "Dey of Algiers.

The two Americans asked Dey's ambassador why Muslims had so much hostility towards America.

Before I start I'd like to say I'm not trying to nor interested in starting a flame war; I am genuinely curious.

Ok, lets say, HYPOTHETICALY, you were given proof positive that there is no God. What would you do? how would you deal with it? and what would change in your life? whould you continue on with ideals like "love thy neighbor" and all that good stuff?

This question is intended for people who genuinely believe God exists. I've asked this to several people and I’ve gotten answers that are all over the board.

*** PLEASE if all you are going to say is "WELL THERE IS A GOD SO :-P", I am NOT interested in your opinion. Please don't try to prove to me there is a God, as that is not what I'm asking! I would truely enjoy hearing honest answers as to what you would do if the situation presented itself.

as a christian you die and find out there isnt any God (or after life), and then somehow given a chance to live again, would you live your life the way you did (Principles, Faith, values etc)?? or would you come back and live a life of 'what was known to you as sin'?

Do I need some psycho therapy for my gayself and my BF who really is a hot muscle stud ? Can I rid myself of sickly humour which probably makes only my gayself laugh...out loud even ? Should I take a nature walk in Vancouver Canada and search for hairy mountain guys who like to ski pristine slopes of Whistler and invite them to my party in Bellingham where we can veg out with the veggies and eat crispy snacks?

Did you know that it's one of the 50 states, and not actually part of Mexico? I know a lot of friends from back east that are surprised to hear that, lol. Being from N.M., I'm just wondering what other people's impressions of this state are. I've heard people think that we mostly live in teepees and huts, that we only speak spanish, that there are only a few caucasian people here, that the entire state is one big desert filled with cactus and weeds, and that you might find ONE McDonald's or Wal-Mart in the whole state. These are all really really wrong, and I don't blame anyone for thinking that, but what do you think? What's your impression of N.M. and some of it's cities (i.e. Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces)?

Every single day, each person in this world always has a minimum of 2 hours to spare to something...whether it's to work, play games and do whatever it is...give time to other people...etc. But how come not so many people can dedicate their time to learning about other religions...esp. the most religious ones, and the top on surveys if not on the low scaled ones? Let's say, in the very very end, those people go to hell (according to a few religions)...or let's ask this question... according to u where would they go? Do you know what happens to you after you die?

But my main questions are...why aren't people bothered to answer these questions, try to answer these questions, what keeps them away from answering these questions, and why don't they care about what will happen to them?

Issiah7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Mat:21-23 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
This is important for us because Hebrew is the key to becoming more authentically Biblical. In Hebrew, the phrase,"and she shall call his name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins," is actually a play on words. "…and she shall call His name Yeshua for He will yoshea His people…(Matt.1:21). Both are derived from the root "yesha", to save. So Yeshua means savior, the implications of which are astounding.
