Every single day, each person in this world always has a minimum of 2 hours to spare to something...whether it's to work, play games and do whatever it is...give time to other people...etc. But how come not so many people can dedicate their time to learning about other religions...esp. the most religious ones, and the top on surveys if not on the low scaled ones? Let's say, in the very very end, those people go to hell (according to a few religions)...or let's ask this question... according to u where would they go? Do you know what happens to you after you die?
But my main questions are...why aren't people bothered to answer these questions, try to answer these questions, what keeps them away from answering these questions, and why don't they care about what will happen to them?

okay...so I get the point why most people don't care...it's cause they don't care.
but, what if in the end, you regret following the religion you followed...will you care then? that's where I'm trying to get...

because ppl usually like to remain loyal to what has been taught to them from early childhood. This becomes their way of life and it shapes who they are, so if anybody says anything else that is different from their beliefs is considered wrong or bogus. Also most ppl are ethnocentric, thinking that their way of life is superior to others.

Religion is not a shopping cart.
Contrary to what a lot of proselytizers tend to think, religion isn't some thing you get right by stumbling on the right holy book. Religion is something you get right at a more fundamental level - in the heart.
Shopping around for a newer, better religion is a symptom, not a solution. It is a symptom of unhappiness, a longing for something better.
Not everyone has this longing however. Some people are happy right where they are, and are doing really well on their walk. Why would a faithful old lady singing Christian hymns on her porch on a summer's evening, trusting in the Lord, need to convert to Islam? She's already exactly where God wants her to be.
Same thing for a Sufi mystic carefully reciting the names of God behind the shade of a tree. He is already rapturously devoted to God. Does some Elmer Fudd Gantry selling baptisms like vacuum cleaners really have anything to offer him?
Sometimes we're already exactly where we need to be. There's nothing wrong with learning about other religions, but it does not always need to be with a view to switching to them.

I am not a member of an organized religion. If I could find one that believes in the same things I do, and doesn't make outragious claims against other religions, and they were quiet, didn't have to sing, etc...I might stop by, I'd probably even bring cookies.
I studied organized religions of the world for 5 years before deciding that NO religion has got it all right. After 5 LONG YEARS of searching for the perfect religion, I realized that there isn't one.
After you die, it's not the worms you have to worry about, it's the flies and beetles...
Have a nice day

Because if a person is religious, then they believe their religion is the correct path to an eternal life in paradise.
If the person is not religious, then they believe that death is either final or that they will be reincarnated.
Most people just don't care to find out about other religions. They usually think that they have all the answers that they need and therefore it is pointless to search for more.

Take heart - Not everyone "can't be bothered" trying to understand other faiths.
I'm a non-Christan & have set out to learn & teach my daughter about as many faiths as I can. She's now 9 years old & decided on her own spritual parth. Despite this - she's also has been attending monthly Buddhist talks since she was in Pre-school, Is familiar with the Christain bible & has regularly talked to Muslim friends of mine (even once turned a Barbie skirt into a Muslim veil when she was 5)...

I think that to truly understand ones own religion they should know about the other religions. To just blindly follow what someone is telling you is ignorant and it is always better to make an educated decision. Some religions even suggest questioning things and then if you still find your way back to that God then your faith is considered even stronger. I think that everyone needs to believe whatever makes them feel better about life when it comes to what happens to you when you die.

I love World Theology. I may be a Christian but I've explored different religions. I've even dabbled in Shamanism and Voodoo. I think if more people would educate themselves then there would be alot less hatred in the world.

I only care to spend my time with God and what I believe in. Why would I spend time studying for example Islam, when I don't agree with it and will never convert to it? I am on here to answer questions that I know answers to, and to voice my opinion when asked. I care what happens to me and I know where I will be going. I am saved and a born again Christian. Do you know where you will be going? Hey, check out this website. It will really educate you about religions.

i try to learn as much as i can about other religions and beliefs...
and i understand the appeal of them for the individual
i also understand why many do not believe in God
and i respect each one for their choices...
i especially love learning about the newer religions and find that they are almost going back to the roots of religion ... where they were nature based
i dont believe in hell ... i do believe in lower realms of spirit for those who are still learning from their mistakes and bad choices in life ... but i believe that this is not eternal and even the lower realms can be progressed from
no one is damned for eternity
I am spiritualist

I have studied lots of different religions because that is the only way to talk to someone IF they want to know about mine. I do NOT force my beliefs on ANYONE, but will compare the two IF I am asked to. That is the ONLY WAY to do it intelligently.
