The article was comparing the actress to Mary. The 16-year old actress, according to the article, is expecting a baby w/ her boyfriend. The article was talking about how the actress' life is similar to Mary's- they were both pregnant out of wedlock at a young age, Joseph was a carpenter, the actress' boyfriend is a carpenter. Now, before anyone accuses me of judging, that's not what I'm doing. But, it kind of bugged me that they were doing that. It seemed to me like it was lessening the importance of Jesus' birth. You can't compare a teenager getting pregnant to the divine conception of Jesus Christ. Maybe it's just me.... I'd like other Christian's viewpoints on this. Thanks!!

How on earth have we reached the point where there are "No Whites" zones in the UK? Why is this allowed to happen? Where are the people jumping up and down screaming "that's racist!" and doing something about it?

Or does the race card only work one way?

What happened to equality - does it, or will it ever exist?

no longer has any urges to be with men, gets married and according to him, has a great sex life, I should assume he is lying or psychologically ill? And if a 40 year old married man with kids (who used to have a great sex life with the wife) suddenly starts dating men and says he's been gay since birth, I should assume he is telling the truth and psychologically healthy?

What evidence would I have to believe the second man and disbelieve the first?

I was wondering why Christmas is a national holiday. I think we all can agree that Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ which is clearly related to a specific religion. If our government follows the separation of church and state policy, then how do they reconcile this? Is it a national holiday because the majority of the country is Christian and therefore would not come to work/school on Dec 25 so it's just easier to close? Just wondering what others think?

Thank you for the correction of my misquote - 2nd law instead of 3rd. And I appreciate all you evolutionists making my point for me.

Wanted to expand a little on my earlier question - seemed many were thinking small picture. I know the law refers to a closed system. I wasn't refering to the earth & our solar system. I was thinking bigger, like the universe. The big bang (Can I assume the universe is a closed system without your shorts getting in a knot?) resulted in a whole lot of order. If evolution doesn't trace back to space dust, what's your theory? Little green men, perhaps?

I just got an from a forum member about "our boycott" working, because Walmart has dropped its gay and lesbian agenda. He was referring to a post I had left in response to a question asking if I used my buying power to assert my views with stores that either supported or didn't support my beliefs. I said I certainly did, and I won't be shopping at Walmart through the holidays.

This is because I'm Wiccan and Walmart has decided that "Happy Holidays" is somehow less appropriate than "Merry Christmas", which excludes the MYRIAD of other holidays occurring in December. I have no problem with Christmas, but it's not the only holiday happening in the next few weeks.

So, how many posters on this site genuinely believe that only Christians, Athiests and Muslims post and answer questions here? Because I'm noticing a trend not only in responses but in questions I'm seeing. Do the rest of us not count? By a show of hands?

Sometimes people ask personal questions regarding my love life. They will ask things like: are you seeing someone, are you not married yet, are you still seeing so and so, why are you not dating that nice guy anymore, etc. I don't like this. Especially if I answer that I am not involved, they react as if it is a disaster to be single, or suggest I meet this lovely young man they know, they are sure I'll just love him. And if I say I am seeing someone, they want to know everything about him, and ask when we are getting married. And then afterwards they gossip about it.

How should I react to these questions? If I say "It's none of your business" I sound too rude. If I ignore it, they just go on. I will tell my mother and close friends about these things, but no one else.

I'm looking into maybe a major in Religion but I have a few questions: what kinds of jobs after college are offered in this field besides a pastor? Would it be better for me to go to a private college or university for this degree?

Reading some replies to a question posted yesterday, this happens all the time. The quote from 2 Kings18 v27 was actually spoken by a commander from the Assyrian army (Iraq today) to the inhabitants of Jerusalem which were the tribe of Judah at the time. Therefore, an arab told the people of Jerusalem they would drink thier own urine if they didn't conform to the Assyrian king. This makes it a bit different doesn't it. Just wanted to put things straight!

I'm just throwing this out there because I'm curious about what other people think. Do you set a limit (dollar amount) for how much you spend on each of your kids? If so, how much and how do you decide? I have a four-year-old and a four-month-old, and I know it's only going to get worse as they get older. I don't feel like I've bought them very much this year, but it seems like the money adds up quickly. Thanks for your input!
