Someone asked this question, to which I responded that I find all of christianity an affront to jesus. By this I meant that modern christianity is a perversion of his message. It represents an established instituition that is largely corrupt and the atithesis of what he taught. Why would this response have been deleted. I can only assume that it was the result of some narrow minded, right wing christian who is blinded to christ's true message

Okay. I went to the ER with a burn on my hand recently. At reception, there was a kind of chubby blonde nurse sitting there. She was very pleasant and sympathetic to me while I explained my burn. I noticed she had all kinds of angel paraphenalia in the little office, a WWJD sign, an angel pin on her uniform, and a Jesus fish on the computer. She starts asking me the usual questions, name, address, insurance, etc, then comes to religion. I said, "None." I swear, she dropped the pen and looked at me. "What?" "I said none, I'm an atheist." She immediately dropped all pretense at friendliness, became very short with me, and left me to sit there in pain while people who came in after me with lesser problems were sent right in. I did complain to the administrator, but he basically said "Sorry, but you scared her, I expect." Like I'm a demon or something! Is this fair? And has anything like this happened to any of you?

Recently Oprah posted a question asking what you would do to change a stranger's life with $1000. I want to go a step further, and ask What you would do to better a complete stranger's life, without spending any money at all. Someone you meet on the street, etc.

Lately my heart has been so burdened for some of the people i have read answers from on here....i have been praying for them myself, but i ask that you join me. if just one life is changed, it will all be worth it, and I believe Jesus can use this sight to do just that.

Thank you for this day! You are so awesome and I praise You! Thank you so much for everyone on here that I have had a chance to talk to. I love them all and I know that You love them so much more. I pray that You would open their eyes to that! Reveal to them how much You love them!! Do whatever it takes to trnasform their lives and open their eyes to the sacrifice You made for them. I pray that You would change at least one life. That You would bring one person to You. Christmas has already reared it's
commercial head- and first did so many many weeks ago. Thanksgiving is now just melting into the
cheap fabric of Christmas and becoming one big smorgasborg of shopping,
eating, and working working working(to pay for more shopping and eating why of course!)
I love certain things ABOUT Christmas and at the last minute, I always
get a little into the "spirit"...but it just seems like Christmas is now
this huge money hungry monster wrapped in tinsel and priced to sell.
It seems as though the real meaning has been drown in a pool of ribbons and
wrappings, receipts and tape.. eggnog and lights...
where is the REAL meaning?

A friend of mine said the line christians always quote
"None reach the father but through me" is actually meant to mean that You can only reach God in Heaven by following the teachings of Christ. I am so confused because I dont see how God can have a son. Did he have the son in Heaven and send him down? I dont get it. Christians-- do you think there is any possible way the texts, when translated from Hebrew and armaic were taken out of context of their original meanings? No disrespect, just a discussion.

Ever seen the free bible commercials that end with "This is a gift from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"? (Those are Mormons.) Why don't other churches do this? Personally I don't agree with Mormons since they accept another book as a holy book. I have never seen an ad from my denomination (Evangalical Lutheran Church in America) but we have went door to door and given away door hangers. However, that wasnt the whole denomination, only my church.

Look, I've come to realize that the internet and gay clubs have become a common gathering for gay men like myself to mingle. It's difficult finding a guy when a lot of masculine guys are afraid to be themselves. Anyone have any creative ideas on how to meet someone worth wild without involving the internet and gay bars/clubs?
