Ever seen the free bible commercials that end with "This is a gift from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"? (Those are Mormons.) Why don't other churches do this? Personally I don't agree with Mormons since they accept another book as a holy book. I have never seen an ad from my denomination (Evangalical Lutheran Church in America) but we have went door to door and given away door hangers. However, that wasnt the whole denomination, only my church.

Gabriel... the bible says to spread the word. Wouldn't TV be an easy way to spread it? Even if a church is non-profit, they can have it in there budget to fund commercials.

because the real christian bible says what good deeds you do you do in Private. so that only the father knows. and don't do good deeds that everyone sees to get the praise of man. [oh and by the way the only bible they hand out in jail is the Gideon bible [i think] so i guess they forgive the unforgivable!]

First part of a two-part question: Why don't churches give away things?...
A church is a group of people that believe in the same thing. There are thousands of churches because people believe in different things.
The best test is to decide if a church believes in what is stated in the holy bible, which is supposed to be inspired by God and written down by man.
One of the things that the bible says is that a person is supposed to give ten percent (or a tithe) of all one's earnings, to the church. The church is supposed to use this money to advance the Work (or proclaiming the good news of God's soon-coming kingdom) to all nations, and the administrative functions needed to carry this out.
If the church members are not all being honest and contributing this tithe to their church, then there are no funds available to advance the Work, which INCLUDES giving away free information about Christ, the kingdom of God, salvation, etc.
If this is not happening, then there is something seriously wrong.
Second part of a two-part question: and have ads in commercials like...?
Advertising costs dearly. Look at how much companies spend for a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl each year. It runs into the millions. The time of day (afternoon, evening, morning) has a lot to do with HOW much these commercials will cost the company. "Prime time" commercials will cost more than, say, a commercial aired at 2:00 in the morning. Commercials from churches are not gratis. They have to pay because this is how television studios make their money.
So this goes back to the church members paying their tithes and offerings that will dictate how a church will advance the Work of God. Salvation is free, therefore books, booklets, pamphlets, sermon tapes, etc., should all be given to the public for free.
There is one Church that is known for having free information that can be downloaded from their website, and this Church does advertise, on the web and in major news publications throughout the world - The Restored Church of God. Their website is www.TheRCG.org.

Have you ever read that book that the Mormons are giving away? It's a second witness to Jesus Christ and actually mentions Him more than the Bible does! The Mormons also believe in the Bible, and the other book you mention (the Book of Mormon) supports the Bible. Get one and check it out!

Also, the Bible itself mentions a lot of holy writings that are missing. If they are ever found and printed in another book, would you reject it because others accept it as "another holy book?"

To answer your question, other churches probably don't have ads because (1) they cost a lot of money; or (2) they don't care to share their message.

nicely, i'm not Mormon, so i'm unable to assert. whether they'd experience that it somewhat is having a bad result on the country, and so it somewhat is needed positioned money into battling it. i'm going to play the two components of the fence right here. before everything, not legalizing gay marriage isn't the comparable as outlawing it. It in basic terms ability you at the instant are not calling it marriage. i think of that gays will bypass on having the comparable rights in California. on the different hand, why make investments lots money on pushing proposition 8, while there are different concerns that are so important? Now it somewhat is a competent question. toddlers are literally ravenous to death precise on our continent - between the main harsh deaths possible - and we are contributing to that for the period of the process the abuse of the multinationals. If the money positioned into battling gay marriage were positioned into getting politicians to tension international businesses to handle their workers particularly in different international places formerly being allowed to sell in ours - nicely, there could be an incredible difference in many lives in Latin us of a of america and someplace else today. lots greater important than the question of no count if gay marriage could be acknowledged or not, is the question of what are we doing on the subject of the actual desires in this international? Why do not we combat against the worst iniquities? (with the aid of the way, did you recognize that the main perfect reason God destroyed Sodom substitute into because of the fact of their scientific care of immigrants and of the vulnerable?) So a brilliant style of conservatives are working in direction of actual "Sodomy"!!!! and that they at the instant are not doing it anonymously in much less high priced inn rooms the two. they are doing it out on the open marketplace.

One of the things that makes the difference is your church doesn't hang your salvation on works like the Mormons do. You have hit on another. If every church did like yours, the world would be a better place. It takes people being available and willing to do things like this. It takes time to develop relationships with people. Many churches do things called "Alpha suppers" That is giving things away and the meals there are good.

Because (in my opinion) Jesus is enough of a gift. The holy spirit through the Fathers will is the only thing that will draw people, not a cookie. John 6:65.

Keep in mind this is just me, not speaking on behalf of anyone else.

I live in Florida and now they have started doing that to attract new members. It has been going on for a few months now, and it seems to be working, one church was raffling a car. You should have seen how many people attended that Sunday.
