Harold F. Blum, Princeton University physicist, points out that if we assume the presence of amino acids in abundance, assume the proper catalysts are present, and assume favorable temperature and moisture conditions, the chances of getting a polypeptide of only ten amino acids would be only one in 10^20. And this probability, infinitesimal as it seems, is large compared to the probability of getting a simple protein. It is inconceivable. And remember, millions of proteins would be needed for the next step toward life. And remember further that even if complex amino acid chains could be produced, the second law of thermodynamics tells us that they would begin to disintegrate since they are all reversible chemical processes.

Just wanting to get some feedback on the society's view on male nurses. A lot of society believe that if you are a guy and a nurse, you must be gay. Is there any websites in regards to this? Or does anyone have any feedback! For a research paper on the shortage of male nurses and why?

I see lately with the music it seems they deplict black women as trashy sluts and money hungry mongers. They have come so far in getting the world to reconize the n word as derogatory but yet they will all call one another by that name. I dont understand or am i wronge in my perception.

I have recently been going to a prayer group which has been myself and two other women who have already known each other for years. They have decided to make this a weekly event which I can't always attend due to my erratic work schedule. One of the women mentioned I must not be real serious about this group, but I have attended each time I can. They seem to not like when I don't show up, but I don't see the big deal.

One of the women told me the other day they had plans for a Thanksgiving dinner inviting some other people. Not one mention for me to be invited. Since I have found this out, I don't care to ever show up for the other meeting, why bother? I think it is rude, and unbelivable the one woman would discuss with me their plans for a Thanksgiving dinner. I told her this morning, Thank God I was invited to someone's house, I think she sort of got it then, and told me I could come to theirs. I don't know how to tell this though tactfully. Any suggestions?

I don't give to charities even at Christmas time. Years ago I was homeless by no reason of my own. All the charities except the city mission, would not give me any help at all. Now that I have money and a job, I would not give to charities at all. They really turned me off to giving even at Christmas time.

My question is, am i terrible for not wanting to give to local charities?
