A $20 gift card for Borders, Barnes and Noble, WalMart, Target, Olive Garden/Red Lobster, Pizza Hut, Starbucks...
Or if you want more creativity, get an inexpensive coffee mug and put the Starbucks giftcard inside of it. Get a book from a Dollar Tree and attach the Borders card to the outside cover... something like that :)

I would say a bottle of wine or some other alcohol...or a gift backet from a coffee shop. Can't go wrong with either or those things. I dont like the idea of gift cards...they look like you put little thought into it and depending on the amout you give, the person usually has to put in their own money to actually by something.

A gift card for a store like walmart, or for a movie rental or cds at a music store. Make a bag or basket of a movie rental certificate, and throw in some different microwave popcorn.

By far the best inexpensive gift I ever got. Got these at a shower and now use them at our neighborhood Christmas party, Also using them to give to my employee as little stocking stuffer items and to the kids on my soccer team. If it is an all adult party & NOT a work party, I would buy something at the liqour store. We play "Dirty Santa" at our parties & those gifts are always fought over.
Not a gift card. It is easy & everything but really is kind of a cop out.
