The Upanishads are considered sacred scriptures by the Hindus.

The following verses from the Upanishads refer to the Concept of God:

"Ekam evadvitiyam"
"He is One only without a second."
[Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]1

This affirms with Islamic concept of God . as There is no god but Allah and Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

let me know what you think about this

Take care

we have prayers.during the prayer time youths are given a chance to pray.one girl and a boy prays representing each group.so i go to the church and i got a chance to pray.and usually it is like the eldest one from both boys and girls group pray.its been 5 months i have been going there.i dont know ,now when at times when i wll be the eldest one among boys i am supposed to pray,but my pastor dont tell me to pray ,but instead he ask an extra person from the girls side to pray instead of one from the boys.is this right what he is doing.i am sure that i pray good,but i just dont pray long enough and may be ,i am not sur,i might be having some accent difficulty whie praying.is this why he is not letting me to pray.is it right from his side,dont he know that i feel bad,is it that he doeesnt care what i feel.what can i do.should i just pray without him asking me,so that i can show i dont care even if he doent give me the chance to pray,which actually is my right .or should i talk to him about

History shows that plain old wooden poles were used to traditonally execute people in the time Jesus walked the Earth, so why use two sticks crossed together to kill him? Why waste time on a so called criminal to tie two sticks together to make a cross?

I'm helping my local chapter try to get lots of stuff for our troops. One thing I am looking for is T-shirts. Also, non-aerosol bug spray,(for the skin not the air) and stuff like that.

better.
My single favorite ideological contradiction comes from Second Kings, chapters 9 and 10, the story of Jehu. There is much in the way of shooting people in the back, tricking them, ambushing them, widespread murder in general, all condoned by God, however the worst of it is the cutting off the heads of 70 children. After all this God says "because you have done well in carrying out what is right in my eyes ... your sons ... shall sit on the throne of Israel." In other words, good work, Jehu. And that fits in with "thou shall not kill" exactly how? There are many contradictions that can be waved away by believers with a clever interpretation. I simply don't see how you explain away a particularly brutal mass slaughter of innocent children.

I have a little problem. I'm a bellydancer and every time I perform I get at least a few women who think I'm a hoochie and at least a few men who think I'm dancing for male sexual attention. They don't approach me and actually SAY those words, but it's obvious as to what they're thinking. My husband almost got in a fight once with a guy because the guy was talking to me like I was a common whore. Some women tell me I have low self-esteem because they say I'm not respecting my body.

What is a nice polite way to tell them they're wrong about bellydancing and that in reality it's a female-empowering spiritual art form?

**I asked this in the "dancing" section, but this section is much more inhabited than that one and I'm looking for some suggestions.

I don’t want to go to Heaven Lord,
If it’s the way you say it is;
With them streets all paved with gold,
And all the jewels and amethysts.

Lord I ain’t never owned no gold,
And I ain’t ever wanted to.
Why would I want to go to Heaven,
When I’m already here with you?

And when it comes to angels Lord,
I’ve done got all I need;
You know I see them every day,
In the faces of my family.

And as for those cloudless days,
God I don’t believe that I could stand;
A sky without those fluffy whites,
Casting shadows on the land.

I love my old dusty roads,
Lord, they’re just fine with me;
I’d rather live right here on earth,
With all the flowers and the trees.

It might not be in your master plan,
But this is where I want to stay;
Right here in your garden lord,
After judgment day.

Some can’t wait to get to Heaven Lord,
And that’s alright with me.
They can have the silver and the gold,
And the jewels and crystal seas.

I hope they find their Heaven, Lord,
With all the diamonds and the gold;
But when they see they can’t spend it,
Would they want my dusty roads?

Back from a marvellous holiday cruise, I've just been reading my diary. 'The sea journey was in two legs and the First Mate said he wanted to do something special for me between them and invited me to his cabin. As we reached the Equator he said we were about to cross the line.. He threw open the porthole, shouted "Feed the flying fish", put something in my hand and I tossed it into the sea. There were no flying fish- He did it on porpoise. Then, as the sun went down, so did the First Mate. The lapping of the waves and the First Mate brought to mind that where woman goes, mangos. Lonely girls- Take an equatorial cruise. If you fail to grab a man by the tropics you should consider entering a nunnery.'
