They don't have to cost money just things they will remember when they are adults the two it is most likely to be played on our my 11 year old, soon to be 12 so he knows Santa does not exist and my 7 year old who still believes..........

I always allow them whatever they want for breakfast Christmas day which they love and look forward to (Hotdogs last year lol)

Every year on christmas eve "the birds" (santas) leave new pyjamas on our beds to let us know Santa has left the north pole. Since I moved out 2 years ago mum arranged for my fiancee to leave new pjs on my bed for me, I think its a really lovely tradition that i'll carry on when I have children of my own.
My dad used to wrap up useless presents to give to all the adults, like used spark plugs etc, all the kids thought it was hilarious, even more so because it infuruated mum.

I really like suprise presents, santa would hide a few "extra" presents around the house with our names on them... usually something we really wanted, and a few unexpected things.

here's a good one at night before they go to bed on xmas eve take a trip outside alone take a large paper bag leave a door or window slighty open, blow up the bag and twist it (if you have some bells jangle them like he's just arrive on his sleigh, then pop the bag so it make a loud bang, then go inside quickly and tell the the kids santa just committed suicide and xmas is cancelled.

the tears are to die for, it's not much fun for the kids but the adults will nearly wet themselves.
