Do you truly "know" anyone who is BLACK. Everyone is usually a shade of brown. Even the darker or even still, the darkest one's are still a shade of brown. So, how would you feel if someone called you PINK, 'oh I have several PINK friends, all of them aren't bad people', okay I hope this makes my point. A persons race really should not be an issue. Last time that I checked, everyone is either a shade of Pink or Brown, so in effect, we are all racists by even relating to everyone as black, white, mexican, and asian. Its all either pink or brown. How about you would just call your friend who is browner than you, how about you just call them by their name? Anything else is wrong. Color doesn't and shouldn't matter. You should distance yourself from the one's who think that their race is important, we are all of the same race, its called HUMAN! Yes, I am a brown man, my heritage includes, Native, African, and Caucasian. So if you call me anything, call me by my name, it is James!

This entirely depends on who you ask... some people think it's okay, other's don't. I've know black people who get really offended, and others who call themselves black all the time!

It my opinion, if it's used in a descriptive way, then I don't see a problem. I wouldn't object if someone was trying to describe me to a stranger, and called me 'white'.

However, I don't think it's okay if it's used in an insulting fashion, just as I don't think any term which insults people is ok, be it 'black', 'n***er', 'limey', 'homo', or whatever.

Just try to respect people :)
