Or any kind of unorthadox, barely heard of religion/philosophy? And what is your stance on an afterlife? If you're an atheist, do you believe in the idea of an afterlife? An afterlife doesn't mean a god, necessarily.

I have seen countless people on this site who condemn those who are not Christian by giving statements such as "You're going to hell!" and the like. Just wondering, what makes you think that this is acceptable? I mean, did you ever hear Jesus saying things like this? It is not in the Bible, that is for sure.This is something that really bothers me, and I am wondering what the rest of you think about it?

Since everything took place in Iran,Turkey,Iraq, at a time when western civilization was, I guess the Roman Empire and Greese.Were names changed when the bible was printed?. And wasn't that Germany? I can't figure it out.If the bible is THE word of GOD than why not use the orginal names especially of the authors of the stories?

First off, I've been a part or ALOT of religions. I've been Catholic for 4 years, christian for 2 years, Jewish for 2 more years, and currently my dad is studying Islam while my mom is pushing me into Bhuddist or Confucious (however it's spelled). Out of all these religions, all I've seen each of them do was say something like *Jews: "All christians are abominable in the eyes of God!"* and *Catholic Pastor: "All religions other than Catholic, all gay people, and all 'wetbacks' are bastards!"* (Btw, i HAVE heard a pastor say exactly that after mass on tuesday to a bunch of his buddies.) And it's been like that for every religion i've ever experienced. So now i'm not religious, and all i hear people say is: "You don't believe in god, you witch!" or something milder like "You are blind now, so i shall pray for you so you can see the light" Why do so many religious people just assume that people like me are just blind witches and bastards? Someone please enlighten me?

i believe that jesus was the son of god but not god himself, i worship the god of abraham, i believe that the holy ghost is a goddess, i dont believe in the trinity, i dont agree with the jewish or the islamic faiths, and i dont like the christian faith, and i cant be a wiccan because it just isnt the right title for my beliefs, but i do agree with the wiccan faith more then any other.

please tell me if there is a religion like this or if i am just the most confusing person ever. :)

I do. I've been reading stuff here for the last hour. Nobody seems to care that they spend all day arguing religion on a message board. You know this is practically a national sport, right? I hate it when it gets closer to November the 5th. I wouldn't mind if it was like in Germany where they only sell Fireworks on the day that the let them off. But no, here in England they sell them about 2 weeks before so that the idiots can buy them.

To me, a ban on the retail sale of fireworks would be ideal. I think for what you pay, what you get is utter rubbish. Public displays are much better organised, sometimes free and people's safety is taken care of.

Each year there are news stories about people who have burnt their faces or hands, stories of some sick individual who has put a banger through an old ladies letter box or blowing up phone boxes with them.

I'm not saying outlaw sparklers, cos kids love the things - I used to love them when I was younger, but fireworks are just plane dangerous in the wrong hands and it seems that we're just too lax here on who buys them.

Also, who can you protect your pets for 2 weeks while people are just letting them off everywhere?!

Children aren't able to distinguish fact from fiction. If you tell them monsters exist, they will believe you. If you teach them that not believing the right ideas will result in an eternity burning in a lake of fire, they will believe it. If you teach them jesus is coming back to whisk all good christians away to heaven, leaving everyone else to burn in hell, they will believe you. Isn't this child abuse?
