First off, I've been a part or ALOT of religions. I've been Catholic for 4 years, christian for 2 years, Jewish for 2 more years, and currently my dad is studying Islam while my mom is pushing me into Bhuddist or Confucious (however it's spelled). Out of all these religions, all I've seen each of them do was say something like *Jews: "All christians are abominable in the eyes of God!"* and *Catholic Pastor: "All religions other than Catholic, all gay people, and all 'wetbacks' are bastards!"* (Btw, i HAVE heard a pastor say exactly that after mass on tuesday to a bunch of his buddies.) And it's been like that for every religion i've ever experienced. So now i'm not religious, and all i hear people say is: "You don't believe in god, you witch!" or something milder like "You are blind now, so i shall pray for you so you can see the light" Why do so many religious people just assume that people like me are just blind witches and bastards? Someone please enlighten me?

Every religion (not everyone INVOLVED in the religion) teaches that all other beliefs other than their own are wrong. Do all people take this to heart? No. I have met a lot of Christians and others who at least respect the fact that I am an Atheist. Would they really rather me be their religion, of course. They just know it's not going to happen any time soon.
Also, a lot of these people fear difference, and were taught to tell everyone and spread the word of their god. However, they were never told how, so they feel they need to shove it down our throats or try to scare us by condemning us to their hell thinking it will change our minds.
Keep strong, and ignore all the negative people. Surround yourself with good people of all religions that respect you for who you are. Remember though, don't throw all religious people in one pile. Some are better than others! Stay strong! Don't let them get to you!
Just laugh it off.

Each religon is defined by the person talking about it at any given time. Just because someone says it doesn't mean it is true. There are good folks and bad folks in every walk of life. Don't let the bad ones get you down.

There are not stereo types but the truth from their perspectives and to them it is the truth from where they sit. Ignore it! If you dwell on it then you become who they say you are.
