What's the point of visiting a section when you aren't willing to learn about our differences? Why does it matter who we love? Are they cowards, brave only through a computer screen?

Do not be discouraged about those people. The best thing you can do for them it to pray. Prayer is the key to help them change. Some have been taught that way and that is all they know. Do not allow hatred for them to penetrate your heart. Because if you do, that would make you no better that them. Hate is hate no matter who does it. I wish and pray the best for you. Oh yeah. The Word of God says that with love and kindness have I drawn them. So the best way to counter-react what they say is to show them kindness, no matter what. It may not seem like it is going to change at first, but if you keep on, it will change. May God Bless

Don't feel lonesome. You should see the atheists trolling the religion and spirtuality section. There is a constant spewing of hate and lack of dialog between subcultures there as well. It does seem that anonymity brings out the worst in people.

The section on Immigration is also absolutely infested with racists. It's not usually worth trying to debate with them, I just ignore threads with titles like "Why don't we just shoot al illegals?", it's just not worth it, but I try to respond sensitively to people with genuine questions.

I think the Internet just attracts people who couldn't get away with talking such rubbish anywhere else; they give the impression to casual surfers, and to each other, that nearly everyone thinks like they do, which is the opposite of the truth: it's because no-one listens to them in the real world that they spend hours a day feeding their paranoia and hatred into the web, convincing themselves that everyone thinks like they do, and that they're even brave to express views that no-one can take seriously. They're just sad, really, but they do hurt people as well.

Rant over!

Cowards and imature teens is my guess. Thinking getting a rise out of people is funny.
