I have seen countless people on this site who condemn those who are not Christian by giving statements such as "You're going to hell!" and the like. Just wondering, what makes you think that this is acceptable? I mean, did you ever hear Jesus saying things like this? It is not in the Bible, that is for sure. This is something that really bothers me, and I am wondering what the rest of you think about it?

It bothers me too, Because I believe in God but you have to be realistic and know that just because others live differently does not mean they're wrong. Example: I was reading this question about a sexual relationship from a girl she didn't say how old she was and then I was reading the other anwers and one of them said, you're never gonna go to heaven egaging in sexual activites before you are married, you're going to hell, Jesus will not like this etc etc. It really pissed me off. The poor girl was just trying to obtain the information she needed to be responsible no reason to harp on her. Like I said earlier I believe in God but as Don Williams say "I don't believe that heaven waits for only those who congrigate." And I have a daughter too and if that were my daughter on the other end of that computer trying to recieve an answer my only hope would be that someone would give her the correct information. That way she could be safe, lecturing does not always work and I belive the girl was eighteen anyway. I'm not a big activist for these things but I am for accurate education even if it is not always pleasant.

I'm an old school Christian. Born and raised Lutheran. The christians that you are referring to are the same as the Islamic fascists that hate others that don't follow their political dogma. Most of them are just stupid people who haven't had a sound logical thought their entire lives.

Bad Muslim! Bad Christian! Bad Pit Bull! It's all the same. They all give the rest of us a bad name.

This is what you get when you have an absolute belief system like Christianity or Islam, or for that matter communism. They think their 'holy book' is absolutely right; so they will condemn anyone who doesn't go along with them.

You can't expect anything else from a group of people who believe they have some absolute truth, be it religious or political.

I don't think they're going to answer. Like others have said, it is in the Bible. But like other others have said, read the rest of it. I have a call on my life to reach out to the homosexual community and I feel like I have to fight off the "christians" with their "God Hates F**S " signs. They make me sick!! This is just another example of cut and paste theology. Pharasees, hypocrites, whatever.... Take the log out of your own eye people!!

Couldn't agree more. It drives me crazy when people post mean and judgmental things in the name of God. If they knew their bible or religion at all they would know that Jesus was all about love and spent most of his time hanging out with unbelievers.

Because of the irony, I get amused when Christians are mean to me because I said something I believe in. Since I am an atheist, many believers automatically belittle me.

Christians are called upon to spread the good news of salvation through Christ Jesus.

Some Christians find it better to spread the bad news of eternal damnation.

While both are truths, it is a question of which one a person prefers to discuss. I, personally, prefer to discuss Christ's mercy.

Why do some prefer to discuss eternal damnation? I guess you'd have to ask them. Which--it appears--you are doing with this question.
