If the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Church are near identical in liturgies and so similar in doctrine, why are there no efforts to merge as ONE Universal Church?

One winter when I was about 12 me and my brother walked to church early and poored water on the steps of the church. We waited for some old lady's to walk up the steps and then tried not to laught when they slipped and fell on the Ice. I know it was mean but I couldn't stop laughing later. This one lady was really fat and fell face first in the snow, the whole town got mooned. What about you.

I can't believe I'm posting this on Yahoo Answers, but my curiosity is too great. A while ago, I developed a way to use magick to influence what cards get dealt out when i play poker with my friends. Just by focusing my energy and concentrating intensly on what card i need, i've been able draw any card from the deck! No joke! Consequently, i've been winning a lot more hands lately and raking in a TON of money. I've decided to put my new abilities to the test and am taking a trip to Vegas in a week. I'm curious to know if anyone else has ever found a way to do this too. If so, please respond and tell me everything u know about this awesome new power!

However, some of the teachings of the Catholic church, well, just don't make much sense to me. For example: heaven and hell. Why would God, if he loves us so much, send anyone to hell? He created us knowing we would not be perfect. And everyone being born with original sin? If Adam and Eve, say the story is real, really did make such a mistake, why are the innocent babies born supposed to have sin in them? And baptism is supposed to get rid of this? Could this have something to do with the interpretation of the bible? I also don't believe homosexuality is a sin- the people that feel that way, can't help what they feel and haven't chosen to go against God. I recently heard on the radio someone who had interpreted the bible a different way, something about it not being a sin, but a sin against something else. In the story told, homosexuality had just been the case but was not the focus of the story and why there was sin. It may had been interpreted a different way.What are your opinions?

I saw a headline on Yahoo that said something about celebrities making ads to end poverty. Why do people believe that they can accomplish something like ending war and poverty when it has been present in every age and culture for thousands of years. Jesus said that war and the poor would be here until He returned. Why do people believe something that can't possibly be done without Christ? Someone may say they don't believe in Christ. OK, but look at the human record. The end to poverty and war has never occured. Don't look at me as a pessimist. The knowledge that it will never end until Jesus comes and gets it done sets me free. I don't like war or poverty. I grew up in poverty. As an Ex Marine, war does not kill people, IT DESTROYS THEM, both survivers and those who were killed.

when they are proven wrong by the bible. they beleieve the bible too right? and when the book of moron and the doctrines and the great pearl or what ever it is goes against the bible? if they beleieve the bible then wouldnt they see that their other books are incorrect? ALSO if the bible is complete because it is gods work and it tells us there is not another book, why are they so dumb to beleive another book? ABOVE that, wasnt joseph smith a drinker? i do believe he was even thought that , among many many other facts have been stricken from the morn's history books. but if you look in history books not controlled by the LDS then you will elarn the truth.
