I saw a headline on Yahoo that said something about celebrities making ads to end poverty. Why do people believe that they can accomplish something like ending war and poverty when it has been present in every age and culture for thousands of years. Jesus said that war and the poor would be here until He returned. Why do people believe something that can't possibly be done without Christ? Someone may say they don't believe in Christ. OK, but look at the human record. The end to poverty and war has never occured. Don't look at me as a pessimist. The knowledge that it will never end until Jesus comes and gets it done sets me free. I don't like war or poverty. I grew up in poverty. As an Ex Marine, war does not kill people, IT DESTROYS THEM, both survivers and those who were killed.

If the world populations income was collected, then distributed equally each man, woman and child would receive nearly $5000 per year including government services received.

With the same $1600 per man, woman and child the United States spends on its military Cuba (just barely) manages to ensure everyone can eat, drink, learn and be treated if ill.

$5000 each plus global justice would be a comfortable existence. It is also enough for everyone to be able to work and trade effectively and actively, so wealth would grow further still.

The G7 nations undertook to give 0.7% of GDP to developing nations. With that money Britain alone lifts 5000 people out of poverty every single day. More effort, more countries, the right projects and less corruption and the world can be a fine home for everybody everywhere.

no one person can completely end war or poverty but its still not great to use it as an excuse to do nothing.

Each one of us can do something to make one other persons life better.

It is not belief, it is wishful thinking.
