I have a co-worker that has used his position to try to influence some people at work that are lower in the chain of command to live the Jesus way. I feel that work is not the place for it.

My mom's taking me around town tomorrow to ask about jobs at the beauty salons as a shampoo girl. She said I'm supposed to go in, ask when a good time for an interview would be, and they may make an appointment but they may also say right then and there. I'm not prepared for an interview tomorrow, any advice?

It seems to me that most of the questions I have read here are not really questions. It appears that the person asking is trying to make others seem foolish or is trying to promote a point of view. Is this simply my perception or are the questions honest and valid requiring an answer? Thanks.

We are all middle class and retired. No one needs extra money to live. The lady in California likes resturants, theatre, bingo, and love stories on TV. She does not mind if I watch sports from time to time. The lady in Wisconsin likes resturants, long drives around the country looking at wildlife and also like sports and action movies on TV. I enjoy the drives though forests and lakes and likewise the same entertainment on TV. I live in Idaho and see each of them approximately 5-6 times a year. I go there or they come to Idaho. It is time to settle down and have a companion. Which woman do I choose?

I guess I just don't have enough faith to believe that you can start with a universe that is nothing more than a dusty cloud of big bang debris. Tell all gods to leave it alone. And somehow you end up with sperm whales eating giant squids, or bats flying around with radar or hairless killer apes figuring out how to blow each other up with A-bombs.

At the very least the laws of physics and chemistry are suspiciously ideal for all this order, for living thinking creatures to just spring up.

Today is October 23, 2006.

On the preceding eve of this day October 23rd, 4004 B.C., the universe was created according to the archbishop James Ussher in what is now called the Ussher-Lightfoot Calendar.

Are Christians celebrating the creation of the universe today?

For a angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. NKJV John 5:4

This book about women in the bible shows me a side of the bible i never wanted to see-

As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35)
No wickedness comes anywhere near the wickedness of a woman.....Sin began with a woman and thanks to her we all must die" (Ecclesiasticus 25:19,24).
"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I don't permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner" (I Timothy 2:11-14).

"The birth of a daughter is a loss" (Ecclesiasticus 22:3).

Before you answer, read the old testament and you will see that God killed many babies including fetuses because their parents sinned or if the mother was suspected to have committed fornication she was made to drink a liquid that would cause her to miscarriage. He also had pregnant mothers dashed to pieces.

I guess God changed and became more humane in the New testament huh? How convenient for you sinning Christians; you get all of God's love but none of his vengeance.

I'm on the verge of beginning meditation. How do you clear your head and settle down to get started. What about breathing? Should I just attempt "sitting" for a while or is that the same as meditation? Sorry I'm a baby Buddha and full of questions.

When jesus was a kid and hanging out with other kids, did he still never commit a sin. As a teenage did he not go though that crazy hormone stage? I would find it strange if a boy never was attracted to girls. Did he never see a good looking girl walk by with a nice body and look at it?

I come here to try and find faith in human beings as a race that we can be loving and tollerable towards others that are not like ourselves. To engage in informative discussions and learn about everyones beliefs withoug being rude and judgemental, and arrogantly claim that we know whats the 'best' one. I seem to be disappointed most of the time. To the others, thanks.
