I have a co-worker that has used his position to try to influence some people at work that are lower in the chain of command to live the Jesus way. I feel that work is not the place for it.

He must be a fag, rebuke him, in Jesus name!

You don't have to accept Jesus as your savior nor anyone else if they don't want to. We all have free will-- God gave that to us.

Since you are not the one who is being influenced, why is it getting to you? Why does it bother you? People in the workplace do all kinds of things that they are not supposed to do. Some I've seen stealing company's time, company's supplies, some are very open to say they are gay and married to same sex. Some are alcoholics. Some are slave drivers. Most are tardy, most make excuses that they are sick, so they don't have to report for work. Some gossips. Some spend time on personal phone calls. Some are back biters. Some will stab you in the back, so they get promoted instead of the one deserving. There are plenty of things that I can go on and on that happen in a workplace. Although I was bothered by these things, we were told, it's not our place to say anything. We are not even allowed to say who we voted for on election day! We are not allowed to show so much emotions --- these are many of the things that companies do not allow, but they are still going on in many companies.

Do you know where I am going with my answer to your question? *smile*

When a person makes no decision for Jesus after hearing the Gospel, then that in itself is a decision.
Not choosing Jesus is a rejection of Him.

Work is probably not the place for it, but if your interest is peaked, talk to your co-worker before or after work.

let me tell you who is jesus first because u guys are for sure going to hell:Jesus (peace be upon him) is a true prophet, sent by Allah like Moses, Abraham, Lot, Noah, Jonah, Joseph, etc (peace be upon them). u cant force anyone to live the jesus way because Allah does not accept that a prophet, a person, an angel, a cow, a stone, or anything be worshipped in place of Him or even along with Him. Worship must be to Allah, the Creator of them. Allah tells us: "Say Allah is one, He is Perfect, He has never begotten, nor was He begot, and there is no one equal to Him." the qura'an

SOrry, I'm an atheist. So I don't believe in God and Jesus. Well, there are no proof of the existance of Jesus and God. I feel is kind of pathetic that people should waste their time worshiping a person that they are not sure who exist. Well, if you have any oppositions to my statement say some proofs other than that he just is or the Bible says so.

What's the "Jesus way"? Work ethics have many parallels with Christianity. Honesty, integrity, avoidance of impropriety, respect for others, even "turning the other cheek", i.e. teamwork. I think if my superior was drawing parallels to Buddhist thinking, I would be able to respect the tenets involved in the Eightfold Path. We don't have to agree with it, but we can recognize Good when we see it. It doesn't hurt, as long as there's no pressure to convert.

No one should be "pressured" into believing in the Lord. This is a very personal decision. A person can only share what knowing Jesus has done for them....another must make their own decision.

It all depends on a person's reasoning. People tend to view Social Darwinism and "The Will To Power" as the popular alternative to the true life, especially in this modern age. Unless they are willing, they will dismiss any religion or leader as an enforcer of "Slave morality."

I would think the question thru.. find your answer.. and spring it on him. If you have given thought to your own beliefs you should be able to back them, and you would feel great when you stumped him.
But be sure to wait for a time when you can't get in trouble for expressing your views, like if he brings it up in a crowd. And remember to remain calm, so if he starts to blow his fuse you can back up and remind him he started the conversation.
By that time he can't treat you harshly b/c the reasons will be obvious, and if he does you have your case and he deserves to be fired.

Well, I suppose he feels diff. you may not believe that it's the place, but to him .... that's his saviour, his Lord and Missiah ... any place is right for him. You either talk to him and let him know you feel this way or just go with it. If he's in a higher position then you I would just go with it. He can make your work life a living hell. Can't really fire for you for your position ... well not in ontario anyway.

And besides, some of the stories are actually quite interesting ...

By rejecting Him as saviour. You don't have to accept anything if you don't want to. If you feel that work is not the place for a person's faith or belief, are you saying that that person should not be working there? I think the person is free to share his belief where ever he goes or when he wants to, it is up to you to accept or reject.
