Mostly due to the fact that I am a thinker, and there is no such thing as rest in my mind, when I was in my state of relaxation, meditaion, I seemed to reach a higher state of thinking. It was very permanent. Almost as though my eyes really opened up to the world around me. I started learning better, thinking better, helping out more, really just being a better person.

What you have to realise of course, that meditation doesn't have to be done by sitting in a little corner with music and candles and any of that nonsense, but can be done an infinitely many ways. I enjoy to swim and play video games, and yes I do meditate doing both....Though not at the same time! Really, it's all about thought.

The most significant things I have experienced during meditation have been just a deep heart felt realization of peace and love. Just being OK with (trusting) exactly the way the world is, warts and all. Hard to explain.

It has many benefits, among them, but not limited to: simulation of rem sleep, deep thought processes become awakened, new ways of thinking can arise, suppressed or forgotten memories can re-emerge, and most importantly, mental discipline.
