What do you want to get out of coming to R&S Y!A?

I come here to try and find faith in human beings as a race that we can be loving and tollerable towards others that are not like ourselves. To engage in informative discussions and learn about everyones beliefs withoug being rude and judgemental, and arrogantly claim that we know whats the 'best' one. I seem to be disappointed most of the time. To the others, thanks.

I come here to inform people about the things that I have learned, as well as to learn about things i do not know. I also come here to try and help stop ignorance of people about religions that they do not understand and make no effort to understand.
I guess to educate and learn!

Well, I always try to make sure that people are informed about evolution and other scientific issues that came up. I have no problem with theists following their beliefs, but I think they should at least consent to hear the facts.

That being said, the real reason I come to this forum is because religion and how it affects society fascinates me. I'm agnostic, bordering on atheist, and I just don't understand some things about theists. I come on here and try to understand what others are saying. And some of them do make good points, I'll willingly admit that. I just like to understand how people think about religion and why they believe what they do, that sort of thing. I also would like to understand why our nation has become such a Christian tool, because it bothers me.

I entered this section accidentally and saw few good questions about Hindu mythology. I have fairly good knowledge of Hinduism due to my experience and age and like to answer. i have also answered some questions of Christianity and Islam. But of late this section is dominated by fanatics of Hindu and Christianity religion. A host of questions are put.

Basically Yahoo! answers is meant for asking the questions for which you do not know the answer yourself and it is an opportunity to share the views and knowledge of others, where us it is done like an question paper of an examination by persons who know the answers well. Answering in Yahoo! Answers takes considerable time and to some extent some money also, but supposed to be learned persons without understanding this put the questions and wast the time of lot of people. Some have been openly doing this to spread their religion and its beliefs. It is very pathetic and not digestible.

So I don't want to come out of Y!A but would strongly suggest Yahoo to consider scrapping this section altogether. I have also address to yahoo on this issue.

Hi - I come for converstation and sharing of ideas. If people can rattle my cage and cause me to lose sleep over an idea then that would be more than welcome. Alternatively, I might be able to give a small bit of insight to some wayward soul.
