What would you do?....Would you say something?....Come between the Parent & Child?....or just walk away like you saw/heard nothing?

I would (& have) say something...I have even gone as far as stopping a woman's hand just as she was going to slap her 2 yr old across the face for crying....

God must be some sick, sadistic individual to make a wildly uncontrolled species like humans, put us on this unpredictable rock, and let us go on and on for thousands of years arguing over his existance. Heck, a good 1/3 of his creations don't even believe in him. All the while we get to do the most depraved, insane things. We've got free will to torture & rape each other all day & night... murder one another by the millions... oppression... innocents dying everyday in pain & misery... diseases a horror writer couldn't dream up, starvation, plagues... what an awesome display of intelligence, compassion & power!

If I had a computer that screwed up as much and as often as this world does, I'd have hit "reset" millenia ago. I guess god just gets off on seeing how much misery his invention called "free will" can create, and how long it will last. What a freaking genius he must be!

Or MAYBE there is no god, and it's all just random chance and our lot is our own doing?

My friend was killed in a tragic accident in October 18 years ago. Since then, I won't even be thinking of him and close to the time he died he seems to be in my head all of the time. Is this odd or is it just something in my sub-conscious?

Ok here is the problem. I asked the quesiton about why I have to ask forgiveness for being the way god made me (as in a sinner since we are all sinners) and was told that god didn't make me this way, it was my free will that made me a sinner.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiIAT7IMwcPPW5yDeY2JdCfsy6IX?qid=20061009225644AAPmjs1

I then asked if anybody had lived a sin free life like I had and was told that it is impossible to do that according to the bible.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmaxDPo.MTM.bFjWsQNRsInsy6IX?qid=20061009235711AAeF0Uz

Now if it is impossible for me to not sin, then in what sense is it my free will that causes me to sin?? Free will would give me the choice not to sin, but the bible clearly states that I can't live a life without sin.

I have noticed that the areas that have the highest rates of gay teen suicide and also abuse and attacks on gays also have the highest rates of "Christian" believers and church attendance.

Why do Christians follow their dogmatic way of thinking with such hateful fervor that it causes hateful angry evildoers to hurt and kill gays for no other reason than to fulfill their religious beliefs? DON"T they know that the blood of innocent people is on their hands... and that if they really believe in God, then they should cease their hateful attacks of gays, for if they are in any way responsible for the killing or death of gays, then they shall go to hell? Their excuse of "they were gay = they were evildoers = they deserved it" won't fly with God???

What does anyone think?

Do you know the difference between a scientific theory and a law?

To a layperson a "theory" means a "guess". It means something totally different to a scientist...just ask one.

Theory: A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon PROVEN hypotheses and VERIFIED multiple times by detached groups of researchers. One scientist cannot create a theory; he can only create a hypothesis.

Law: This is a statement of fact meant to explain, in concise terms, an action or set of actions. It is generally accepted to be true and univseral, and can sometimes be expressed in terms of a single mathematical equation. Scientific laws are similar to mathematical postulates. They don’t really need any complex external proofs; they are accepted at face value based upon the fact that they have always been observed to be true.

Your thoughts on the evolution theory?

When I saw muslim women wearing a burka that even hides their face at the mall, I decided to walk around the mall wearing just my shorts, tshirt and a ski mask.
It didn't take long before security came looking for me.
If they are allowed to hide their faces, why can't ?
