A women, live under the patronage of the parents as a child , of her husband after marriage and to be looked after by her children in the old age. This is the dictum of age old social way of life. Though a marriage is a social contract where a woman and man agrees to live together in Harmony, rather is a bondage - emotional, social, ethical and biological. So the husband should always love and treat his wife as his best partner and give everything that he should and in turn the wife also should reciprocate. Therefore the duty of the husband is to have 'TRUE LOVE' to his wife and nothing else.

A son is bound to look after his parents at their old age.

mariarige is not a duty but a commitment, what you do for your wife you do out of love as a husband and father, same as a child, the bible says husbands love your wives as christ loves the church and gave his life for it and it also says children obey your parents, for this is the first commandment with promise.

duty to wife: be loving, supportive, willing to let down your ego in front of the wife if neccessary and for the sake of the family.
expectation: fun, respect, and adjusting with husband and his family, honest, not greedy or too demanding, self-reliant.
duty to parents: nothing. parents dont expect anything from their children. as for kids they only want you to listen to them, do well in school, college, society. as for grownup children your duty is; dont do drugs, dont get preg, dont get AIDS, dont tarnish their image. be a good respectable citizen in the society.
expectation:expect lifelong support, advice whenever asked, financial help in crucial times. babysit their kids.
