Extremely curious... I know that Jewish people practice the same religion but then it is differnt forms of the religion (Orthodox, etc.). So can a christian person become Jewish if they wanted to or do you have to be born into it? Please explain. Is this a nationality or religion??

He's 12, kinda small and really smart. First the kids were hiding his stuff, now they're cornering him. I've met with the school, but it only made it worse. I want to know why it's ok for them to call him a cracker, but if it was the other way around it'd be racist?? Thinking about just telling him to catch the main culprit alone and stomping him until he gets the point, but in my experience they just come back with more friends. That's the problem. everytime they get into it, it's like 4 to 1.

Fools are proliferating here, and their ridiculous statements are easy to see through...to those, just ignore them. BUT we are becoming so deft at sarcasm and assumptions, that when a real question is asked, many are cutting loose with the snide remarks and insults. This does nothing but confirm that Gays are evil and nasty people..not our best foot forward. IF you have doubts about sincerity of the question, then ignore it. BUT if the question could be real, wouldn't it be better, IF YOU are impelled to anwer, to answer kindly? No one ever lost a battle with honesty and kindness. There was a question yesterday that reeked of rancor, but in reality, was real. The girl had bad information heaped on her and she asked if this were true. Many lamblasted her and her impressions of us were NOT very good...so very unnecesarry. We face enough problems from homophobes in the world ... we do NOT need to create them ourselves. Won't you help me decipher what is real and what is not?

I had never looked into the Amish religion until the atrocity against their community recently.
As an atheist I have no time for any religion, I certainly have no respect for the 'so called' Christians. (Two faced springs to mind)!
But it seems to me that the Amish group actually practise their Christianity, they will actually turn the other cheek, they dont treat this just as 'something that Jesus said' which can be translated into whatever the reader wants it to mean!
It appears to me that they are the only 'true' Christians that I have ever come across! Why arent all Christians the same in this very basic teaching?
How can a 'true' Christian justify killing a fellow man, woman or child, for whatever reason?
By all means do it, (if you consider the act justified) but dont call yourself 'Christian'!

I'm constantly amazed at how little people know about the Bible or the process by which it was created, compiled and edited. People believe blindly in the Bible inspite of the fact that the book was never authorized or endorsed by God!

The fact that there is no mention (not even in the Bible itself!) of God commissioning such a book to be written should throw a flag for people. Out of all the instructions that Christ gave on how to live life, not once is it recorded that he endorsed a book called "the Bible." Shouldn't that tell you something? He gave instructions on every area of moral behavior but never once authorized a book like this.

True Christians need to study more, learn more and understand how this book came into being in order to understand its flaws.

I admit that the Bible is one of the most useful tools for living, but it is far from perfect and definitely not entirely God inspired

What in your opinion is joy, and how do you maintain it? What makes you joyful?

Today in church, our pastor spoke on joy and gave everyone cards with the word "joy" on it, and had a ninja going around the auditorium stealing the cards. His sermon was on what steals your joy.

Just last week a religious fanatic group was going to protest at the burial of those little Amish girls, they had signs stating that the little girls were whores and they deserved to die, an anchor at fox news asked them what would it take to stop them from doing so, he offered them money at which they scoffed, so he gave them 1 hour on his radio show in which they agreed. Do you think that the religious protesting is getting out of hand. What say you? The name of the fanatic religious group is called The Westboro Baptist Group.---A.P.

The MULITPLE violations of the Community Guidelines with the "jesus is lord" posts.

It's:
Chatting
Repeating of posts.
Not a question or answer
and Point-Gaming.

That's 4! obvious violations in each of these questions.

Yet the "morally righteous" among us not only don't have a problem with people breaking the rules, they're ENCOURAGING IT.

Do christians believe that the rules don't apply to christians?

Please don't give me any crap about "original sin" either, (how the hell does a newborn baby sin?) Is it just a way for churches to recruit new members before they have a chance to decide for themselves?
