I'm constantly amazed at how little people know about the Bible or the process by which it was created, compiled and edited. People believe blindly in the Bible inspite of the fact that the book was never authorized or endorsed by God!
The fact that there is no mention (not even in the Bible itself!) of God commissioning such a book to be written should throw a flag for people. Out of all the instructions that Christ gave on how to live life, not once is it recorded that he endorsed a book called "the Bible." Shouldn't that tell you something? He gave instructions on every area of moral behavior but never once authorized a book like this.
True Christians need to study more, learn more and understand how this book came into being in order to understand its flaws.
I admit that the Bible is one of the most useful tools for living, but it is far from perfect and definitely not entirely God inspired

Robertic, you obviously can't see the forest for the trees. Yes, you quoted some scriptures, but the scriptures you quoted do not refer to a book called the Bible, nor do they describe or endorse its contents.... This is exactly that kind of narrow mindedness that has us in so much trouble today. People are not educated about the Bible.

It's a fair enough question. Let's take it one step at a time:
Old Testament: The nation of Israel was created by God, for the benefit of God and mankind (they were to create the foundation of Christianity, and beget the Messiah). Their laws and customs and history are set forth in the Old Testament. The words and psalms of the prophets and the Davidic kings are all "God breathed", that is, their words are inspired of God. Nothing they say contradicts one another.
New Testament: These are the testaments of those who walked with Jesus and witnessed his deeds and words. Many of the books were written years apart, by different people, yet they all collaborate! There are letters here written (mostly by Paul) to the young churches. All of these testaments are also considered "God breathed"; God sent the Holy Messenger (Holy Spirit) to inspire and guide the apostles. Nothing they say or do contradicts each other, or the Old Testament. God's message for mankind remains intact.
Here's a passage from the New Testament: 2 Timothy 3:16:
"
14 But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.
15 From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Hope it helps. Keep asking tough questions! God wants people to "be discerning"

There is evidence of the bible being recorded in the Old Testament.
Exodus 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.
Deuteronomy 17:18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
Deuteronomy 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
The Bible is the collection of inspired writings.
What may be confusing to you is that the translators of the Bible were NOT inspired.

Perhaps they are driven by a desperate desire to feel less insignificant in a world riddled with much that seems well beyond our comprehension?
Maybe deceiving oneself into believing something so clearly flawed and absurdly incorrect to be the infallible truth regarding all the things the ordinary person simply cannot fathom, such as the fateful question, "Why?", helps the average(and possibly spiritually needful) man come to terms with his existence, allowing him to mentally juggle his preferred ideology to suit his emotional requirements(without ever having the need for mental exertion to understand 'why', with the only requisite being to believe) rather than overcoming such an emotional crutch in the quest to aid the constant expansion of the realms of human understanding through methods and means that repeatedly and without fail, predict with perfect accuracy, the outcome of any rudimentary experiment one cares to set-up.
The accuracy of scientific based, peer reviewed theories cannot be scoffed at by those of intelligence and remarkable mental capacity, only by those who deem themselves too ignorant to be able to comprehend to their fullest ability the reality they inhabit and the fundamental laws working the world around them.

Then said I,Lo, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me, PSALMS 40:6-8
Before the entrance of sin, Adam enjoyed open communion with his Maker; but since man separated himself from God by transgression, the human race has been cut off from the high privilege. By the plan of redeption, however, a way has been opened whereby the inhabitants of earth may still have connection with heaven. God has communicacated with men by His Spirit, and divine light has been imparted to the world by revelations to His chosen servants. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of men: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (2Pet :1-21
During the first twenty-five hundred years of human history, there was no written revelation. Those who had been taught of God, communicated their knowledge to others, and it was handed down from father to son, through successive generations.the preparation of the written word began in the time of moses.Inspired revelations were then embodied in an inspired book. This work continued during the long period of sixteen hundred years from moses, the his historian of creation and the law, to john, the recorder of the most sublime truth of the gospel All scripture is giving by inspiration of God 2Tim 3:16

They'd have to be either terminally stupid, or profoundly gullible to believe that this outdated and irrelevant book of bronze-age jewish mythology is "perfect".
It is riddled with contradictions, mistakes and just plain lies.
No, it's a book of mythology, albeit a poorly written one.(the greek myths are at least a fun read).
Nothing more.
