At work the perspective teams have a bulletin board that is decorated monthly and since the holidays are coming up I have this problem.
A lady on our team is Jehovahs Witness and I do not want to do anything to disrespect her beliefs but at the same time I do not want to leave her out of anything. On the bulletin board we usually have like little ghosts or someother character with each perspective team memebrs name on them. Like I said I know the people who follow the Jehovah's witness faith do not celebrate holidays and I would not want to insult this person in any form what do I do?????

its not the matter who ask's for dinner becoz we both wanna do it sumtimes (we cant now due to geographical condition)
the prob is economical differences between us. he might take me to fabs restaurant n i myself dont want him to pay for me, n i might push him to let me pay for the dinner.

but how about the other day?

hmm...

is it polite to insist to pay the check?
is it polite to say infront tht "we'll go dutch?"
is it better if i let him pay for us both, or to insist tht i'll pay my own expanses?
what d ya think?

This is not meant to be a racist gibe so if you're easily offended or otherwise just going to kick off, please don't answer!

Why is it that (specifically in the UK), on things like TV shows and publications (government flyers, school brochures etc etc) always feature a shot or two of one member of an ethnic minority, almost as a token gesture to minority communities? Someone once said it was to appeal to the people who belong to these communities, but the way these people are portrayed in the adds is so painful obvious: 'Look! Our organisation isn't discriminatory- here's a shot of a man wearing a turban!'.

Kind of creates a problem where there wasn't one anyway in my opinion...what do you think? Thanks!

I am your sustainer ..?, Or where did he said I am the only Son Of God ? pls also look and explain what he said : " If you love me, Keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever.
(Bible, John 14-15/16)

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me, and he also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
(Bible, John 15-26/27)
So , we all are the son Of god , we all pray to God as he is the father of all ,, jesus himself said " I will pray to the father "

Lets say that you were in an insurance claim battle for damages to your house caused by lightening (An "act of god" according to some insurance companies)

The insurance company, insists it is not liable as the "god" they talk of, was responsible for the act. The judge call "god" to the dock. But now god stands in the dock... the insurance comapny is asked to show evidence of "god" they present a 2000 year old book full of jumbled non-sense...

Upon presenting the bible as evidence of "god"... how quickly in do you think they would be lauged out of court... (approximately in nano seconds)

Will it really take a court case to prove this "god" is a non-enity ??
What do you think ?

I'm told that all sin is equal in the eyes of God, so it seems that once you're born, God has it in his mind that you deserve to go to hell, because you're born a sinner, and as soon as you start thinking, you start sinning. It's a catch 22 - You're given life, then told you that you don't deserve it cause you're so evil.

According to the answers to my recent question,http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060924151357AAfFiLq,
It seems that there are no boudaries to imagination. But I have another question: If there are no boundaries, then why haven't new colors been thought of?

(I know I already asked that question in my other question, but I posted it too late for anyone to answer it.)

"The Truth Will Set You Free" "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." So declared Jesus as he was teaching the multitudes in the temple in Jerusalem. (John 8:32 ) Jesus' apostles could readily identify Jesus' teachings as the truth. They had seen abundant evidence of their teacher's divine origin.

TODAY, however, some may find it difficult to identify the truth Jesus spoke about. As in the days of the prophet Isaiah, today there are "those who are saying that good is bad and bad is good, those who are putting darkness for light and light for darkness, those who are putting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." (Isaiah 5:20 ) With numerous opinions, philosophies, and life-styles being promoted nowadays, many people feel that everything is relative and that there is no such thing as truth.
When Jesus said to his audience that the truth would set them free, they responded by saying: "We are Abraham's offspring and never have we been slaves to anybody. How is it you say, 'You will become free'?" (John 8:33 ) They did not feel a need for anyone or anything to set them free. But then Jesus explained: "Most truly I say to you, Every doer of sin is a slave of sin." (John 8:34 ) The truth that Jesus was talking about can open the way to freedom from sin. Jesus said: "If the Son sets you free, you will be actually free." (John 8:36 ) So the truth that frees people is truth about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is only by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus' perfect human life that anyone can be freed from sin and death.
On another occasion Jesus said: "Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth." (John 17:17 ) The word of God as expressed in the Bible is the truth that can bring freedom from superstition and false worship. The Bible contains the truth about Jesus Christ, which leads people to put faith in him and opens the way to a bright hope for the future. It is a splendid thing to come to know the truth of God's Word!
How vital is it to know the truth? Many religions today, while claiming to follow the Bible, are largely influenced by human philosophies and traditions. Often, religious leaders seem not as concerned with the accuracy of their message as they are with its acceptance by the masses. Some feel that God is satisfied with any form of worship, as long as it is sincere. But Jesus Christ explained: "The hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him."-John 4:23 .
If we want to worship God acceptably, we must know the truth. This is an important issue. Our eternal happiness depends on it. Therefore, everyone should ask himself: 'Is my way of worship acceptable to God? Am I genuinely interested in learning the truth of God's Word? Or am I afraid of what a careful investigation might reveal?'

Do you suppose that your forefathers were as dismissive of the Germ Theory of Disease as being "just a theory", when it was so OBVIOUS to them that demonic possession and curses were the cause of all disease?

Do you think they asserted that it took as much faith to believe that the earth was round as it did to simply accept the holy scripture that "proved" it was flat?

Do you suppose they claimed that the proposed heliocentric solar system was "just as much of a religion" as the commonly accepted belief that the Earth was the center of the universe?

In any one of a MILLION instances where the evidence of scientific inquiry clashed with established religious dogma, do you suppose what people BELIEVED made one whit of difference as to what the factual REALITY of the universe was?

Science is a very effective means of gaining knowledge whereas revelation and scriptural study is not, and this fact is less surprising under atheism than theism. --From EbonMusings.org
