That is precisely what it is. If we seek purpose in life, it should be noble. If it is not, for example immorality, then our purpose is not purposeful. We are just fooling ourselves justifying something that is not right.

The God statures erected in my name is what gives the immortality that i seek. Everyone will be screaming my name for centuries to come. Damn I would have to wake up! Anyway I don't want to be immortal. I have a purpose in my life and that is my family.

NO, if you seek immortality you would realize that every moment has purpose and they collect and contribute to your future. If you don't recognize that the moments of this life have purpose and you are immortal...then you would simply have no building blocks for your infinite future.
