i follow a few simple rules
1=be nice to people unless they are nasty to me
2 = laugh at my own mistakes not just other peoples
3 =do any job i am doing to the best of my ability
4=look after my wife and kids
5=try not to take anything to seriously as someone once said life is to serious to be taken seriously

I do have a few rules that govern my life. I made the rules that govern my life. I have picked up a lot from different sources along the way but have not taken any philosophy or religion adopted them and their 'rules' in their entirety.

No buddy there are no actual "rules" which govern ur life, but there are, however, best practices defined by our ancestors (including books of religion) on how well a man/women can lead their life...But following it or not following it is solely our choice...
So jus remember "Your life is in your hands, don't expect someone else to live your life for u"....

There are crystal clear rules that govern my life.
Basically, God's Ten Commandments.
I'm not being biblical about this answer.
But these are rules that govern most if not all societies.
Unless you have better ones, you should stick to these.
