In my local paper on Saturday, there was a letter to the editor regarding our need for a new jail. This is a stand alone paragraph:

God does not want a jail near schools and the airport. Everyone worries about terrorist attacks - we haven't seen any until the jail comes.

Does god think that people in jail are terrorists? Does this writer know that jesus can be found in jail? I'm at a loss.

I understand those of you who have been blinded by Saten being critical of us and of Christ, but we who have been saved by the Blood of Jesus should be more loving and an example to those who are blasting us. No wonder some folks don't want to be Christians when we act so hateful to others.
Let us try to be more like Jesus and less bitter and defensive.

I feel I am on a mission to pray for Julia. Whether this person is truly hurting or just trying to provoke us to act against God is not important. If we are being provoked, then surely there is an ungodly force behind it. If she simply needs help, will you join me in prayer that Julia be given guidance and assistance?

I would appreciate it if you would write your prayer so others can pray your prayer aloud.

Please, for those who do not believe, please keep the hurtful comments to yourself. Unkind comments offer to help to anyone.

Thanks.

Hi, after watching Christian TV channels lastnight, I wanted to find more about a guy named Todd Coontz who was asking for $100 'seeds' I thought this was very wrong, so anyway I came across a couple of websites that agreed with me and eventually did a test on www.livingwaters.com about the 10 commandments and I was guilty of 9 of them. I don't break any now but the thought occured after reading the wording by this ministry, apparently my God is a figment of my imagination. So the question is if you are born mentally challenged and steal something for example and you do not have the mental capacity to see that you have done wrong and therefore unable to repent, are you going to hell?

What is the one thing you would really like your children to learn before they move out on their own?

Ok I've known this much older guy for three years on the third year we started talking on the phone. Only he could call me but i can't call him. He won't let me. We'd talk for 3-5 hours. Lately he's gotten personal about me. He would ask what I look like in my intimate parts. Or about 'that time of the month' sure I'd ask him stuff about sex in a man's point of view. Do you see any warning signs? I'm comfortable with him because when I tell him he crossed a boundry he won't cross it anymore or force me to do anything I don't want to. He has a girlfriend age 19. (I'm 21 and he's 43) He already knows I'm not attracted to older men.

Opinions please

is it true because you believe it ? I would contest that - since you are not all knowing - it is the latter. Religion requires a high level of egotism. You elevate all the things you believe and imagine them to be some ultimate truth.

To claim that the bible is the word of god - requires that you believe it to be the word of god. The believer always put themselves before any belief they happen to have

Why are people rude enough to tell someone that they are not patriotic to the country they've moved to if they still identify with where they are from? My husband and I live in Philadelphia, PA. I am American and he is Haitian. He's a citizen, and very often people ask him where he is from, since he lived in Haiti until he was 17 (has an accent), and is now 33. He speaks perfect English, but it's his 3rd language after Kreyol and French. More than once people have told him he's an American, and they get angry. Why??? If I moved to another country, I would still be an American, even if I became a citizen there. Or they say, "No you are an African American." He's neither African, nor American. He's 1/4 French and black and Taino mix. That's not African American. I find this extremely rude. Why do people care? Has anyone else had this experience?
