Why is it that no matter where an indian man is he is still an indian. An asian is still an asian. French is still french. English is still english. However the African man is black or a ***** and not african.
Please this is a serious question. No jokes. It will be appreciated.

Do atheists really think it's stupid to have faith and pray for things to happen that would logically appear to be out of one's own control?

Or, do they just crave attention?

"Do not look at the insignificance of your sins, but consider the greatness of The One you are disobeying."

Do you think it's relevant to your everyday life? What I mean, have you ever viewed your sins this way?
Please don't give me long quotes, I want YOUR view on this.

Is anyone really surprised? The Nazi comes out and attacks their religious beliefs and if he didn't realize this would happen - do you want someone that dumb for the position of Pope? This Nazi did this on purpose. And anyone who supports him and his pedophile priest should be ashamed of themselves. Next thing you know, you great Pope will be asking people to put stars on people's chest...

I haven't seen one Moslem Cleric come out and denounce the attacks preformed against Christians and christian churches, why not? Isn't Islam the religion of peace? Religion is evil no matter what they believe. Faith is not religion! I am a man of faith. I have put my faith in Christ. I am not perfect but Jesus is recreating me to be the man He has always wanted me to be. No religion can do that. I'll say it again because it's worth saying ALL RELIGION IS EVIL.. Jim

The pope made comments recently to the effect that many Islamists, too many, adhere to a philosophy of violence, hate and destruction. In response, Islamists throughout the middle east threatened the pope and burned Christian churches, most of which weren't even Catholic. Then they demanded an apology from the pope.

Aren't these Islamists just proving the pope's point? And why should he apologize for saying something that these Islamists are demonstrating has validity?

I think one day Science will one day catch up to and empirically verify all my beleifs in Christ. What do you think? Is it not possible?

The dangerous thing I see is the differen't paths each take to the Truth of Jesus Christ. Theology take you strait to the Truth and sets you free, but science has taken a long road with a lot of curves. Sometimes science points to God and sometimes it's moving in the opposite direction. Though ultimately I see it moving towards the same destination.

A fun way to look at it is to see religion as a strait line to the Truth and Science as a giant curve to the Truth. Both ultimately will be pointing to and ending with God, but if you take instantanious velocities on the science curve, you're going to be pointing in the wrong direction. I think that's the dangerous thing about putting so much confidence in science. Are you pointing in the wrong direction?

As an example here is a recent quote from a Christian on this forum about non-faith people - 'they know there must be something more to this life than just BANG...LIVE....DIE' -- my question is why?

And why do religious people justify this (God) as any form of rational/sane thinking? Essentially it seems to boil down to - I don't want to face the fact that I might not live for ever and therefore I refuse to believe it, and I think anyone else who says they believe it must be lying because I cannot cope - so how could they?

Please do not bombard me with 'God speak' or 'I pity and forgive you' or 'you will burn in hell' or ' how sad you aren't going to Disneylan/Heaven' - just give me a rational/logical reason why my belief's are in any way less valid than yours - and if possible why a 'supernatural being' creation is not less likely/logical/rational than a scientific (and yes incomplete) non interventionist existance.

I was to vacation in October and, while making final arrangements via internet, next to the city I was going to was the number 666. I immediately took a deep breath, and then wondered if I should cancel, or go some where else. I do not know where the number came from, as I was typing text at the time.

I'm not totally sure where the direction of my life is going at this moment. So I was thinking about spending time with god for awhile. I need to create a daily timeline to accomplish this. So I would love for all you talented day planners to come up with your own spin on the way to do this. Any timelines are appreciated.

To me these muslims are like calling a crack-head a dope fiend, and then said addict uses the statements as the basis of why they need another fix. If alla and mohammed were so great, why are all muslim nations so crappy, and if their god is superior, WHY DID THE JEWS BEAT THEM ALL IN SIX DAYS? Some god that lets infidels whup the tar out of almost every muslim nation in less than a week. Is alla really that weak, or is it a conspiracy to make muslims look like third-world dogs?
