Why is it that no matter where an indian man is he is still an indian. An asian is still an asian. French is still french. English is still english. However the African man is black or a ***** and not african.
Please this is a serious question. No jokes. It will be appreciated.

People are ignorant. If it helps....No matter where I go....I'm white irrregardless of the fact that my family is from Europe. People don't think about what country you're from because they're not smart enough to think outside the box.

I wonder....why do people have to distinquish themselves from eachother???? Can't we all just be HUMAN after all?

I'm black American and I do not consider myself African. If you are referring to someone from Africa, then they should be considered African, because that's what they are. I don't see black or ***** (which is only black in Spanish) as an insult.

If you are from Africa you are African. If you are from America then you are American. I am biracial black and white. I have no problem with those terms. ***** however is very old and not in use anymore. At least I haven't heard it being used.

and why is a European a white? I aint white, more like beige, and you're not black, just a darker shade of brown. Besides, I usually here Afican or African-American these days. Guess I'd have to be called a European-American

I know, I'm a human!

Because black people are from places other than Africa. If you were originally born in Jamaica and moved to the U.S., would you want someone to refer to you as African-American instead of Jamaican-American?

I'm a mutt--ancestors from England, Ireland and Germany, and I certainly don't expect people to know this and refer to me as such--I much prefer to be called "white." It's easier this way.

An apt question, You wish to debate how can we dissuade ourselves from our psyche to nurture a sense of presumed superiority over the 'black' as a race. The genetics science and the world of sports have already proved the 'black' superiority over non-blacks ?

I refer to African-Americans as just that. Were they not American, I would refer to them as black, for lack of a better term. Why is that insulting? I am not insulted if someone calls me white, is black not a comparable term?
