Do atheists really think it's stupid to have faith and pray for things to happen that would logically appear to be out of one's own control?

Or, do they just crave attention?

Ok, so far I've learned there are numerous ways to define an atheist.

No they don't crave attention, their beliefs happen to be non existent, just because they don't believe doesn't make them any more or less of people. And of course they don't have perfect lives and everything works out for them, show me a human on this planet that that has happened for, I can tell you there isn't one, no bodies perfect.

Faith is a very personal thing, and something each and everyone one of us has to find for themselves, in whatever form that presents itself in, religious or not.

post Questions in this Forum

They have better things to do, like
enjoying the spectacle, and sleeping well

As an atheist I have absolute FAITH in
my OWN DECISIONS, which work out
logically 95pct of the time. My life could
hardly be better (and HAVE BEEN better)
I WILL "exit" with a BIG SMILE on my face..
where-ever I "end up" ...

HAVE SOME logical Advice/WARNING for U

IF/WHEN the HEATING breaks down in
HEAVEN , ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOSE..

I am not an atheist but I do not believe thatthey have any more of a perfect life than a christian does. everyone faces difficulty it just depends on the severity of the tests or challenges that the person has. If atheist believe that it is stupid to believe in God that is their problem . Everyone has the God given right to believe as they want. I do respect that right but will also state my beliefs. Not in a judgemental way as I do not want offend my father in heaven. I am not perfect but I try to live a life that is pleasing to God as I do not want to be left behind and want to enter into the kingdom of heaven. As ar as craving attention I do not feel that is the case either way with the majority of us here. There are alot of us who trulyu desire to help others.

Yes, many if not most of us really do think it's stupid to have faith and to pray for things to happen that would logically appear to be out of one's own control.

Further, no one has perfect lives, nor does anyone have everything work out for them. Neither faith nor reason changes that. We all, believer and nonbeliever alike, mess up, and we all deal with people who take joy in making other people miserable. As quantum physics teaches us, all of the universe is one big crap shot, and life is no different.

As said in the Song of Wisdom,
"You take the good, you take the bad, you take 'em both and there you have the facts of life..."

1st Q:I'm an atheist and my life is far from perfect.
2nd Q: Yes atheists do think faith in a god and praying for stuff is stupid. Our lives are not just marionettes to some thing with ultimate power. WE control our lives.
3rd Q: no, I would rather stick to the shadows and be left alone.

a big problem is when people cannot accept those on other paths as having any faith. some may be but mostly people who have a true spiritual experience will begin to see the sickness of organized religion and gravitate toward the eastern religions. during this process you can not be awake and respect your religion of birth so you are in transit as an athiest or you can get stuck in atheism as well. alter calls and baptisms are 'cute' ideas but only tragedy really changes one's spirit. a near death experience, a severe beating, drug addiction, losing your family, going to prison... a camel passing thru the eye of a needle. i grew up believing that only an idiot and sexual deviate could believe in god but that changed later when i became homeless the alcohol and drugs.

I have a pretty good life actually, things work out and they don’t. I am flexible enough to realize that some things are just not practical and there will be bad days. Plenty of them. And as for craving attention, everyone does! Some from God and some from the people around them.

Nobodies lives are perfect. they suffer from the same problems we do except they deal with them directly while we pray for a solution. Either way the problems get solved so whats the difference. Believe or Don't believe Its everyone God given choice. That is why he gave us Free will so that we could make up our own minds based on the facts life throws at us. I believe and that's good enough for me.

I am Atheist. I don't think it is stupid to have faith and pray for things one desires in life...prayer or (thought with precisioned intent) can evoke very powerful energy to create reality.

However, I am not 100% certain that "God" exists and therefore I do not defer my life's responsibilities or base my moral foundation on something that may or may not be true. I don't waste an ounce of my energy believing either way. Instead I focus that energy on myself and live my life in a way that allows me to create my reality, take action now and look at that girl in the mirror each morning and Smile!

Crave Attention????...in what sense...do you mean Agnostic uproar????

OK what you call an atheist is someone who doesn't subscribe to the worlds definition of God.......a central judge and decider.....the bossman as you would call it....This means the real definition of athiest has been lost in translation

But, as I have come to realize most athiest people mistakingly label themselves athiest b/c their definition of God is not a person, a judge, a decider as most of the world has agreed upon.....This by no means says that athiest ppl are not spiritually aware......a few athiests I have met actually believe that there is a Universal energy that they possess and can utilize to create anything the mind thinks of in this physical universe.....these would be called successful people if they have figured out how to make money off of this ability to create....but I assure you its really not that different from your definition of God......Step outside the box of limitations for a second and see that people that are "athiest" and are quite successful is not because they judge others but because their thoughts are in order and in check.....Stop labeling and try to understand.....but be careful knowledge is contagious.
