I started a new job and my new boss is a female from Glendale, CA. She is Hispanic and grew up in L.A. She is new to KS and I told her that I have a great dentist. I wanted her to know that the hygenist is hispanic too without coming out and saying just that, so I said, "The hygenist's name is Ana." I know she picked up on this clue because she said, "You really like you're dentist, huh." Do you think she took offense at my obvious attempt to let her know the hygenist was hispanic like her or do you think that she might appriciate my attempt at diplomacy by not coming right out and saying it?

What's the right way to communicate to a minority that he or she would be comfortable at my dentist/doctor because they are a diverse doctor in a midwest city?

Would you ever date an Atheist? What about marrying one? What about having kids with one?

Why or why not?

Yesterday it was a cartoon, today its the Pope. Do you wonder who it will be tomorrow? Is every day a new reason to riot in the streets at the latest insult?

Seems that i have a negative outlook about things given these circumstances.

I had fair weathered friends, they are not happy when i achieve something.
I can't adapt to any enviroment with plastic people..and they are everywhere.
I'm bothered by the fact that people nowadays are too competitive, so its hard for me to trust people.

I'm at a loss as to how you can claim God is fair and just, yet still believe in original sin (which, to my understanding, is that we are all born sinful). Because Adam and Eve sinned, we all have to pay the price? And it's not just Adam and Eve. The bible says God will visit his wrath upon the 10th generation of descendants of those that originally sinned.

How would you feel if you were a student who walked into a classroom and was told by the teacher that instead of you taking a test, the first two people in the room took it... and the rest of the class is going to be graded on how they do. Plus, every other class in years to come. Does that sound fair? No way! You'd blow up in the teacher's face, and rightly so.

What makes it different when it comes to original sin? And just saying something about God being God and he can do whatever he wants is a pretty poor answer.

How long would it take before there were no men left on the face of the earth? I say less than 200 years.

I am a Christian guy and I have been searching for a long time for that ideal Christian girl. I am looking for a relationship, yes but more so looking for a girl who takes her relationship with God seriously and is also looking for a guy who does so.

Ok. Through the Christian God's tender mercies we have gotten the ability to make a choice using our own 'free will' on whether to serve him or not.

That 'choice' is simple, serving him will pretty much ensure that your life will be harsher than those who don't but you get eternal happiness in heaven as your reward.

The 'reward' for not serving this God is to burn eternally in the lake of fire.

But when you really think about it, what kind of 'choice' is that to throw out there? There definitely seems to be a 'right and wrong' decision to make in that case, as I am sure that there wouldn't be many would would 'choose' the eternal damnation thing.

So why is this presented as a 'choice' when the ultimatum is definitely Serve me or Burn in hell?

PS. Would you doom your children to eternal damnation if they didn't do exactly as you told them to? God calls us 'children' and I don't know any children at all that have obeyed their parents wishes to the letter.

Seriously, the last thing that is going to convince me of the magical sky pixy is some obvious dimwit using an argument from emotion-e.g. "why do you reject him when he loves you so much?!?" or "I just can't believe that everything is here without some force!"

Im not suprised to hear it from kids, but when the "adults" use these same lines it scares me.

I am the President of a group at my school. The group has been known to talk about ideas, yet never do anything. This year I want to take this club to new heights. But I also dont want people to be unhappy with my leading skills. I am not unfair, but I want more out of people than just ideas. I want action. We do a lot of community work, and I can handle that just fine. But it is being a leader trying to get out talks into actions. Once again stating, I do not want to be disliked. So, my question is what do I do to have the perfect medium? What do I do to satisfy our advisor, our community, and our members?

I don't believe in being friends or hanging out with someone who has hurt you, or wronged you, because it brings back the painful memories.

If god decided to end your life, could he do it? I mean, he's allegedly omnipotent, so would a snap of his fingers kill you? Or does that violate free will?

This is a hypothetical question, please make sure you understand that before giving an answer like, "God wouldn't kill you, it's wrong." Or some other nonsense that avoids the issue.
