If god decided to end your life, could he do it? I mean, he's allegedly omnipotent, so would a snap of his fingers kill you? Or does that violate free will?
This is a hypothetical question, please make sure you understand that before giving an answer like, "God wouldn't kill you, it's wrong." Or some other nonsense that avoids the issue.

I'm an atheist. But, I sometimes try to challenge him to show me he is real, even if it kills me. I try to make him angry so he will come down and smite me, but no responce so far. I feel that I have done my best to try to find out if he is real or not. And have come to the conclusion that he does not exist.

Ok, since it is hypothetical, Ill play along. But for clarity's sake - GOD DOESNT EXIST. Therefore, he cannot kill me....
But if he existed, I would suppose that he could do anything he wanted to - he is omnipotent right? As for free will, it shouldnt get in the way....you freely chose the piss the guy off sufficiently enough to have yourself killed!

He gave you life, and in the end he will take it away. Such is the way of man. We are given life as a gift and as a challenge. It is what we do with it that is the important thing. Death will come, by his decree, we only have so much time. As humans we were given the gift of 'free will' to do with as we please. Only the highest of all the Angels (Christian ) have this gift as we do. Being mortal and having free will is the challenge. How many of us can truly say that we live according to the laws of our creator, and have not faltered?
How ever you believe, in what ever you call your God, it is the same. Love and compassion is what we strive to master and hate and chaos is what we fight to avoid.

1. It would not violate free will. That refers to the choices one makes throughout life, not the consequences.
2. If there is a God, the very definition gives him/her/it/they the ability to change the course of the world. Snuffing me would be trivial in the overall scheme of things.

Why not? If all that is says about God is true, he certainly does have the power. The again, when I'm in my car and I see a person crosssing the street, I do have the power to gun my engine and kill him, but I don't.
Just because one has the power and ability does not mean they have the will to do such things. Which certainly reassures me!

They say when your time is up - it's up. There used to be the image of a woman with scissors cutting your life line. Now it is seen as God *ahem* "calling you back into his arms" So does that mean that when you are murdered - that is when God wants you back....? Why would he murder you then? Why not kill you in your sleep

Yes... if you mean end your mortal existance... He has done this... see Ananias and Saphira in The Bible... and doubless many others for like cause.... I also believe he could, if he so willed, end you eternal existance.
