My husband is a youth minister at a church where the pastor has verbally abused both my husband and myself and also has tried to destroy our ministry. Things calmed down while I was pregnant, but are slowly starting to regress again. This man is good at "campaigning" for himself, and has the entire deacon board in his pocket, so we are not sure telling would do any good. I could tell many stories about how this man has hurt us, and probably has done some major damage to my husband's career.

We can forgive him, but before we leave (which is soon!), should we tell the church what the pastor has been doing so the next minister does not get the same treatment? Or should we leave it alone for the sake of unity (it would probably do some major damage)? If you think we should tell, what is the best way to handle it? I told a church member something he said without naming names, and she was outraged (wanted to know if I had told the pastor, lol!).

Bible version: Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. on the 3rd day he ressurected and straight to heaven.

Quran: He did not die but was replaced by a double. Instead he was lifted(ascended) by God.

Both believe Jesus will come back.

First of all, let me say I am glad that both religions did not deny the extraordinary events that took place in Jesus life. Both believe Jesus is still alive and both believe Jesus was lifted up(Quran) or ressurected(bible) and will come back another time. Kudos for that.

My question is what happen to the rest of the story? Why the obvious discrepancies take place?

Peace to all.

I am particularly interested in Christians who don't go to church. And please don't answer "because I'm not a Christian" because you don't have to be a Christian to go to church.

I knew it was wrong and i did it anyways because i was straight scared and I regret and repent. I am now going to church and gave my life back to JC. I know JC forgave me but I just cant stop grieving! and I want to really feel and look forward seeing my child in heaven when I go. I just hope that my child will still love me. Can someone please share scripture where I can go for this?

Abraham had a kid that God established his covanent with, and he had another kid that, I guess was from adultry, since he was already married. (correct me if I am wrong)

So are the chosen people, 12 tribes of Israel, from the covanent brother and the gentiles from the other brother?

Most christians in America are a further splintering from the protestant church, a product of the Reformation in England.
Why do Protestants worship the book more than those who actually toted it through most of it's history?

"But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
- Matthew 5:28

Jesus says that in order to get into heaven you must not commit adultery. It is impossible for a man to not lust after women. Lust is what keeps our species alive. If a man didn't experience lust then there would be no reason to get married or have kids. Billy would never talk to the hot girl because he wouldn't think she was hot in the first place. The species would dwindle as everone went off to do their own thing instead of starting families. Men are fueled by lust. It's something that not a lot of women like to think is true, but it is. Thus, it is impossible for men to get into heaven. Tell me I'm wrong and explain. Please.

Does God grant what you have prayed for? I am asking this because it says in the bible that if you ask in the name of the lord, it will be given (something along those lines)

And Im wanting to know if god only grants certain things.

Like if you prayed to get blackjack whilst playing would he grant that?
If you prayed to roll a 6 on all 4 dice your rolling, would you roll 4 6's?

What if we dressed all children exactly alike until the age of puberty when they could choose to wear whatever they wanted? Would that help men and women to live together more as equals?

The Bible contains many quotes about how women must be subordinate to men. For many contemporary Christians, this forms a serious barrier between them and a very literal interpretation of the Holy Bible. I don't agree with them and left Christianity for these and other reasons. There were some interesting responses to a similar question concerning Transubstantiation.

At what point do you give in to "Buffet Christianity" in response to such ridiculously outdated beliefs? Do you believe that you don't need to follow all of what the Bible says to do in order to be a good Christian? Should all of the Bible be taken as the divine truth, even the really, REALLY excentric stuff if one is to call themself a good Christian?

If a man decides to enlist for the war as a medic, he's not choosing to be a medic out of freewill...something in his life must have inspired him to help people. Since we have no control over what inspires us, there can't be freewill.
