Bible version: Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. on the 3rd day he ressurected and straight to heaven.

Quran: He did not die but was replaced by a double. Instead he was lifted(ascended) by God.

Both believe Jesus will come back.

First of all, let me say I am glad that both religions did not deny the extraordinary events that took place in Jesus life. Both believe Jesus is still alive and both believe Jesus was lifted up(Quran) or ressurected(bible) and will come back another time. Kudos for that.

My question is what happen to the rest of the story? Why the obvious discrepancies take place?

Peace to all.

The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values

However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.

The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.

This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.

There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.

These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect

It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.

Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.

The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.

As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is

I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.

The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.

I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach

The Holy Qur'an was sent to correct vital details and pivotal points that have caused a major break from God's original message. The idea that Jesus died for man's sins and that he is the son of God are very serious errors that God corrects in the Holy Qur'an. That is why whatever the Bible confirms in the Qur'an is true and anything the Qur'an corrects in the Bible must be accepted as true. Otherwise, ones relationship with God is in serious jeopardy on the Day of Judgment. Instead of having a relationship with God, you will have a relationship with a cross which is meaningless in reality. God is One and God is alive. God neither begets children nor was God begotten.

Every prophet and messenger of God was told of the coming of the last and final Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all). When they were told of the greatness of the humble followers of the Prophet's teaching, that they would enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, each prophet prayed to God to renounce his own prophet-hood and be made one of the simple followers of the religion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). God did not honor the request of any of these prophets except one: Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). That is why God will return him to the Earth as a follower of Muhammad and lead by the Holy Qur'an's laws.

peace

There are no obvious discrepancies the koran is a lie and and the bible is the true word of god. And muslims do deny christ's deity. The death and ressurection is the basis for christianity and the forgiveness of sins its is gods plan and islam is not a part in it. You really should put more thought into your comparisons, not matter how hard you try every time you put the truth of christ against islam or any other of satans lies its apples and oranges

ok..first of all...how can people believe in a dead guy who was crucified, died and buried...that doesnt make sense.
the answer to your question is that jesus is NOT dead but was ascended by God. The rest of the story goes like this...Jesus will come back to fight the false messiah and jesus will die because as it says in the quran..every soul must taste death...and jesus will die when he comes back and after that ...the day of judgement will rise and every sould will be before God to see where they will go..either heaven or hell.

There are discrepancies because one of them has been changed from its original version, which is the bible. The Quran will never be changed, as it is the completion of the series. Both originated from the same God, but the bible has been translated and retranslated, and had things added and taken away from its original version. Do you know that William Shakespeare was assigned to reinterpret the bible and rewrite parts of it? Yes, it's true. I truly hope you convert to Islam. Peace.

The Qur'an is not intended as a book of history. It mentions key details where we can learn something from them, but it leaves a lot of history out.

The Qur'an also assumes a basic knowledge of history, as many passages are written in the style of allusions. For example, one passage starts with "Have you not heard the story of Moses?".

Jesus is still alive and he is God by the way. One day he will come back and take all the Christians in the rapture then after the tribulation he will set up his kingdom on earth for 1,000 years. Satan will once again be allowed to tempt people and will build up an army and try to fight Jesus. Then he will be forever cast into the lake of fire. (The Bible is correct, not the Quran.)

The Son of God died to set us free from sin & death.

The Prophet Jesus (hhgtbap?) didn't accomplish the purpose of His coming.

The discrepancies? Well, the NT was written primarily by men who were there to witness the accounts. The Qur'an was written by a man with a political & social agenda.

The two are mutually exclusive.

According to Islam, the reason after the descending of Jesus (peace be upon him) to the skies was because God Almighty knew at that very moment that the Children of Israel were opposing him alongside their other enemies, the Bani Ansar (Romans). Jesus at that very moment was saved by God Almighty but will be promised back to this world in order to restore faith into everyone around the world. God Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

004:157] That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Apostle of God";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) know ledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not

The rest story was discontinued because in the Holy Quran. Jesus (PBUH) said that another Messenger of God will be coming by the name Ahmad and that he will teach all of the message of the oneness of God to all of humanity:

[061:006] And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the apostle of God (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of an Apostle to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!"

So, God decided at that moment that Jesus (PBUH) Inshallah (God Willing) will come as a sign of the Day of Judgement for everyone to know that when he returns then shall be a clear sign for all:

[043:057] When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)![043:061] And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way.

So, the reason why the rest of the story ended so short was because of God and his test to his humans to see those who follow the true religion or falste religion. Let me tell you this, God is All Knowing and All Merciful. We, Muslims will soon see Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him)
