In all seriousness. You can believe that heaven and hell exist, but what makes you able to say that this is an absolute truth?

You can say Allah exists, but what makes you say that this is an absolute truth?

I can say there is no god, but I do not claim that it's the truth. I just believe it to be true.

Truth: a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like.

A fundamentalist christian, a jew and a hindu were travelling in a car. The car breaks down and all 3 are stuck. So they decide to walk to the nearest house and ask if they can spend the night.

They knock on the door of a farmhouse and tell the farmer their story. The farmer tells them that 2 of them can sleep in the house but one will have to sleep in the barn.
The Hindu volunteers to sleep in the barn.
10 minutes later there's a knock at the door. It's the Hindu "Oh, my goodness gracious. There is a cow in the barn and it is against my beliefs to share a room with such a sacred animal".
So the Jew volunteers to sleep in the barn.

10 minutes later there's a knock at the door. It's the Jew "Oh, my goodness gracious. There is a Pig in the barn, and with the whole kosher thing, there is no way that I'm sleeping in there"

So the fundamentalist christian volunteers to sleep in the barn.
10 minutes later theres a knock at the door... its the pig and the cow

To me it's just the stupidest idea ever. I mean....if we had no government...no cops...no nothing...we'd just be going back to the days of the wild west. People dying on the streets everyday.

I guess I am a born skeptic or realist, but at as a very young child in Sunday School, I wondered why is Christianity the only true religion and all the others are either studied as myths (which are now being revived and practiced all across the world) or false, those that worship anyone else but the Judeo-Christian Trinity.

They get to kill 1000 people say they're sorry, repent and go to heaven. All they have to do is really mean it. That's easy.

They get to go to church and thank Jesus for dying for the felony they just committed

No matter how many women they rape, Jesus still loves them

No wonder why most criminals are Christians.

If I was a criminal, I would become a Christian too.

Agnostic here, not wanting to convert anyone to a religion. And just so we are clear, I'm not asking you to change, if you choose to believe there is a place called "hell"; I don't wish to "change you".

I read this on yahoo answers frequently. I assumed as a child it was real but then, you know, adulthood. Now I am of the belief that hell is not real. I assume that other people became adults, and know that this hell thing isn't real.

Is it a joke, to illustrate a point, like how atheists use the flying spaghetti monster to illustrate why we don't want Intelligent Design taught in public schools?

Am I incorrect with my logic in thinking people are adults?

People don't really fear hell, do they?

What does it say about people who use hell as a scare tactic, to gain control over people?

You can't yell fire in a crowded movie theater erroneously, and while I respect people's right to a freedom of religion, I just have to ask, who came up with this idea of "hell".

I grew up mormon and this is a shock for me. I'm no longer mormon but when I read it, I actually thought of the stories of quetzcoatl or the famed alien contact billy meyer?
I've done a little research into Ufology and Mormonism and theyre ties to masonry and ancient mysteries and I think the alien connection actually gives mormonism more credit?
Anyone else agree.
Oh well.....Just a thought
Sometimes I wonder if the stories mentioned in the book of mormon happened in one of the previous cycles. You know how the Hopi and maya think this is the 5th or 6th sun. I don't know where this is going but stuff on my mind. Any comments?

Which was the goal and which was considered the enabler? Which is generally local (community) and which is national (federal)?

How should this be clarified?

I m a muslim and m shocked by the discriminating postings made by ppl against not only Islam, but also christianity, judaism and even atheism. I believe this is immoral and devalues the particular person's faith.
I believe in peace. I think in the afterlife, everyone good in their deeds shall be allowed entry to man's destiny - heaven. Well I include all believers of God along with atheists. Peace be upon u all nice ppl! God is kind and will act kind toward his favourite creation - man.
Till then let us all leave in harmony with our fellow human on this beautful earth. Brothers and sisters, let us agree on this honest proposal, doesnt matter what u r or what u want 2 be....thank u and god bless u all!

I'm looking for recommendations for how my wife and I can emphasize Christianity on Halloween night.

We are not looking for Halloween to be a single or special day of reflecting Jesus Christ in our community (for Christ is in every day), but we understand that there will be many families out on Halloween night. It seems like a great opportunity...

We will be asking this same question in fellowship with the church, but I thought that perhaps this audience would have some valuable ideas (perhaps from personal experience).

Thank you and God bless.
