The Old and New Testament were written by saints with inspiration and direct help from God. Obviously He intended them for ordinary people, to undestand them and observe them. They should be crystal clear, because He is perfect.

But it is obvious from the anwers we see to religious question here, that hardly any two people agree and priests with theological degrees spend most of their time interpreting and re-interpreting the scriptures for us. The books of the bible were not writen for university graduates. Why this situation so?

Christ told his apostles " go and spread the good news (the gospel), not "go and interprete the OT and what I meant when I was speaking". Would be grateful for your views.

As an Imam of a large Zaidi Sect Masjid, I get asked this a lot. Yes ! It is OK to worship one of the 99 gods. Here is my typical daily prayers:

1st prayer: Zeus- I pray to the king of the gods every morning.
2nd: Buddha- Is there a more beautiful image in all of Islam than the Buddha ?
3rd: Allah- I pray to Allah midday.
4th: Ali- the precious son of Allah
5th: depends on my mood Sometimes, I pray to Vishnu, Amna, occasionally a second prayer to Allah.

,especially of those I love. I guess, what I'm afraid of is the pain and sorrow, and the unknown after life. Also, I can't fathom the fact that you'll never, ever see that person again - they're gone, they've vanished! I try hard not to think about this stuff, but it really haunts me..
