I heard that one of the fathers of "intelligent design" testified under oath in the Dover case that ID actually does NOT meet the minimum standards for a scientific theory... is this true?

Then why do people keep claiming that it does?

I know its highly controversial and bound to spark serious anger among some but I hadn't heard it before and was wondering if anyone else had. Obviously it goes against the teachings of the major religions, thats why I'm not naming any, but... Celibacy was actually made part of certain churches because it was the only way someone could be homosexual and justify not getting married, and even meet other homosexuals. Sorry I can't provide an academic source.

This generation isn't the only generation that has tried to attack the Bible and failed. Generations have come and gone but the Bible is still here. Like it or not, the Bible is here to stay and there's nothing anyone can do about it unless God allows it. I read an article this morning, "There are no atheist in foxholes." Having been deployed to Iraq and witnessing some of the horrors that some of you only read about, I can attest to seeing so-called atheist praying once the body bags started rolling out. What are your thoughts? Oh, and by the way, check the argumentive, rude or belligerent attitudes at the door. Thanks.

We are a public school parent group and have a donor that demands multiple public acknowledgments of their
and likes to throw their weight around because they donate. The donor has become very obnoxius and I believe not worth the trouble of the donation but realize that we need to do what's best for the organization. Any thoughts?

I like to meditate on my inner being, my motives, my actions. It makes me wise. I become wiser with seeking the counsel of others. There are those who's opinion on this site I admire and look for their comment. You know who you are. This quote came to my attention this morning after my meditation. Now I am asking for wise counsel.

Listen to the sound of water. Listen to the water running through chasms and rocks. It is the minor streams that make a loud noise; the great waters flow silently.

The hollow resounds and the full is still. Foolishness is like a half-filled pot; the wise man is a lake full of water.

Thanking you in advance!

"Firstly you don't know where Hitler went. He could have repented for his sins before his death."

Anyone else think that's enough, if done sincerely, to get Hitler into Heaven?

While all of his Jewish victims, being "unrepentant unbelievers" (Rev 21:8) would go to Hell?

The most spiritual men, as the strongest, find their happiness where others would find their destruction: in the labyrinth, in hardness against themseleves and others, in experiments. Their joy is self-conquest. Difficult tasks are a priviledge to them; to play with burdens that crush others, a recreation. They are the most venerable kind of man: that does not preclude their being the most cheerful and the kindliest.

There is no human problem which could not be solved if people would simply do as I advise.

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one : 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' and God granted it.

I am wondering why so many Atheists & Agnostics come to see what us Christians or religious people are talking about, since you don't believe in God or Heaven or Hell or the devil. Are you looking for an answer to something, Why not waste your time somewhere else, on another site,it is strange you claim you don't believe in God, but yet you spend most of your time on this site, A true Christian will not be changed by your ideals. Just wondering what is you reason for searching the religions site. I know now, I will get some hateful answers, Thats OK

I have been in many chat rooms over the past few years and I have talked to some weird people. I met one guy who liked to wear diapers and wanted me to babysit him. I also met a few who wanted a spanking or wanted to buy my high heels. Have you ever came across strange people too?

Whenever i see tourists like Japanese tourists or chinese tourists and they seem to have a question..i tend to see them ignore me, and try to look for a more Americanize looking person to ask them. even if they need a photograph taken, i'm right there standing, sitting, or doing nothing.. and they will never ask me. In the bus, i see europeans start conversations with Americans if they sit with them in same seat,, but i've had situations like this and they never try to talk to me. So, what exactly do they think when they see Mexicans-americans( that don't look white), do they think we're just disgusting and not american, and that we don't know english? Do they think we're just here in the usa and are nobodys?

Many times when I ask a question about Christian practice, some respondents reply "Even though some people say they're Christian, they're really not." It does lead one to the conclusion that there are lots of Christianities.

This fraternal rejection exists within Judaism, within Buddhism, and (all too prevelently in the Middle East) within Islam, and no doubt within all large faith or philosophy groups. One segment claims ownership of an undeniable "Truth" others within their own faith traditions find quite easy to deny. Examples of this pervaid Yahoo! Answers as well as the news media.

So what is it like for you to find yourself on the outs with some segment of your own faith family?

What particular things do you believe that stop the dialogue in its tracks?

Do you ever keep quiet because you fear that others in your closest faith community will show you the door?
