I know its highly controversial and bound to spark serious anger among some but I hadn't heard it before and was wondering if anyone else had. Obviously it goes against the teachings of the major religions, thats why I'm not naming any, but... Celibacy was actually made part of certain churches because it was the only way someone could be homosexual and justify not getting married, and even meet other homosexuals. Sorry I can't provide an academic source.

I really don't know why they should be forced to be celibate. The Bible
says that the Apostle Peter was married looks like the others could
if they wanted to.Mat 8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

Mar 1:29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
Mar 1:30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
Mar 1:31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Peter was married it would be better if you wanted to get married you
could it seems to me.

Then perhaps such churches are not authentic churches imparting Godly values and principles.

For it is stated in the Bible:

Matthew 19: 4-6
"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

1 Corinthians 6: 9-10
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

I think that this is a story.

In truth the Catholic church instituted no marriage for priests in order to stop property distribution.
If you are married, you can leave your Aries property. No marriage, no property distribution.
You die, and the Catholic church gets to keep the property.

I have never heard of this; and I cannot believe that any church would condone this behavior, since according to the Bible this is a sin!@
