Are you looking for an answer to something, Why not waste your time somewhere else, on another site,it is strange you claim you don't believe in God, but yet you spend most of your time on this site, A true Christian will not be changed by your ideals. Just wondering what is you reason for searching the religions site. I know now, I will get some hateful answers, Thats OK

I find it kind of amusing that atheists accuse us of trying to convert them, when a couple actually came out and said they're here to try to unconvert us. So, they're doing what they accuse us of. I don't go to the science area to try to tell them to not believe in their big bang theory, yet many of them, not all, come here purposely to try to talk us out of our religious beliefs. I guess misery like company, they want us to be just as empty as they are. Don't let it bug you, ignore them, I do.

This is a free place for anyone. It doesn't say for Christians only. I don't believe in your God or heaven or hell or the devil. Does that mean I don't belong here even though I do have a religion? I think not. It is the Religion and Spirituality spot. We can all respond here as we please. Just like the Atheists aren't going to make you change over to their way of thinking, you aren't going to change anyone else either. Stop being so rude to people. Are you so closed minded that you think you are the only religion in the world? And next time you write a question, look at how many times that question has been asked first. We have had this question asked almost every day since this Yahoo Answers came on. Good Day!

Hopefully you won't think this is a hateful answer.

I am agnostic, but I don't go to the Religion portion of the site.

I *DO* like to bounce back to the home directory - where everything is listed by most recent time in posting. I will look at any question there that I think is interesting and respond.

I do agree with you, that no one is likely to change their faith based on responses to an Internet posting. I don't know that anyone really thinks they will - but this does seem to be a forum for open discussion, not a Christian-only site. If you don't want to hear what everyone who reads your posting has to say, maybe there is a way not to post it on the home page? Or some other site could be more appropriate.

Perhaps you can change your perspective. While you may get feedback you aren't looking for, it does mean that there are those folks out there who are at least willing to read what you write. (Of course, back to that "I don't think ANYONE will change their beliefs based on Internet postings" that doesn't mean I think you will convert people online either!)

I hope that this is an adequate response. I don't go seeking issues, but some things make me want to respond - and sometimes that is in a negative way. But I don't think I'm hateful.

As another poster pointed out, this is "religion and spirituality". Christianity is one religion, there are many others. What's a religion anyway? It comes from the Latin meaning to reconnect. With people, with that which is greater than your understanding, with a sense of mystery, with community? Atheists, agnostics etc might hold these values.

Spirituality - this can mean all sorts of things - if you want to really get a perspective on this (rather than defining yourself on the board and being applauded or criticized) look up the word spirit

For the same reason Christians like to ask non-Christians over and over again why they don't believe in God. You won't change our minds any more than we'll change yours, so why are YOU posting here?

The category here is "Religion & Spirituality", not "Christians Only!" Trying to claim this site as your own only shows your arrogance. Just in case you have completely missed the point of being non-religious, we all have the fredom of choice to do as we will without the threat of eternal damnation.

Most atheists/agnostics have already tried Christianity and found it lacking, but I doubt you have ever tried completely renouncing your faith to try Individuality, have you?

I have answered this about 15 times now. I will not give you a full answer, because you do not want an answer, just to try to insult people. If you wanted answers, you would have read the ones that were given to this question when it was asked before. You would have seen the similar questions when you typed this. All I feel like saying is why are Christians not in the mythology section? And you should tell the man with the gun to your head, who makes you look at questions you don't like that the cops are on the way and he should get out.

I spend some time here because I want to at least insert the idea that unchecked religion can harm people. Religious people have in the past and are still attempting to criminalize homosexuality, abortion, interracial marriage, and in a variety of ways subjugate the freedoms of everyone, no matter what their faith. In presenting ideas here that call into question some of the basic points of faith, I hope that people will see that there are a variety of viewpoints and that they should avoid encapsulating in law the simplistic, black-or-white morality that does not belong in a pluralistic, secular society.

Believe what you want to. Live your life up to your own morality. But don't impose your morality on others. I doubt you would like to live under the morality imposed by the Taliban.

Is this like an "atheists can't be citizens/patriots so why don't they go live somewhere else" question? (And did you think we'd miss that insinuation?)

Godders may indeed get the theocracy they want, and soon -- but not without opposition. You may be the majority in this part of the world, but not in the whole world. You need somebody to tell you that.

Hello.

Actually, I imagine most atheists,/agnostics don't bother going to the religious/spiritual section, they, like I, simply answer questions that pop up on the main question list.

i'm rather new here, & it has rather taken aback me to a level. thank you for being area of the answer, notwithstanding i do no longer comprehend what your previous posts have been like in the previous they seem high-quality now. Asking human beings to no longer verbally attack & bait yet another has no longer something to do with unfastened speech. we are able to nevertheless get our messages for the era of with utilising much less offensive wording, those products is purely a splash infantile. it is carried out on objective to anger one yet another. It rather does interest my memory of a few 4 years olds scuffling with. thank you!

First off, the category "Religion And Spirituality" is NOT exclusively CHRISTIAN!

There are THOUSANDS of religions and spiritual movements, and this category applies to ALL of them EQUALLY.

Christians need to wake up, quit being so egocentric, and realize that they do NOT own this site OR this category.

Finally, just because someone is agnostic or atheist, doesn't mean that they may not have questions or answers about spirituality! One can be very spiritual without resorting to the belief in a deity.
