Many times when I ask a question about Christian practice, some respondents reply "Even though some people say they're Christian, they're really not." It does lead one to the conclusion that there are lots of Christianities.
This fraternal rejection exists within Judaism, within Buddhism, and (all too prevelently in the Middle East) within Islam, and no doubt within all large faith or philosophy groups. One segment claims ownership of an undeniable "Truth" others within their own faith traditions find quite easy to deny. Examples of this pervaid Yahoo! Answers as well as the news media.
So what is it like for you to find yourself on the outs with some segment of your own faith family?
What particular things do you believe that stop the dialogue in its tracks?
Do you ever keep quiet because you fear that others in your closest faith community will show you the door?

I was rejected by my own 'faith'. I said I still have confidence in myself and created another 'faith' all my own.

As far as I know, my religion doesn't reject others, unless there has been a sin commited that requires ex-communication. Still the people don't reject that person. We love all people and feel that we should practice the golden rule. That is the way I try to live my life. No matter what religion you are, each one has something good about it, why not try to find the good and stop looking at the bad, or what we think of as "wrong"?

The relationship you have with God is the only thing that matters.
Many will come and say I am God, but they are all false religions.
The only true Faith (as I'm a Born-again-Christian, I don't like the word religion) is that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose again from the dead and He is alive today. I could never keep quiet about what God has done for me, and if you want to know if it's real, you have to ask Him into your life.
I know people who claim to be Christians and know they are'nt. I don't even care if I'm rejected by some of my Christian "family" because I know that if I'm alright with God, then it's them who have the problem, not me. I'm not saying I'm perfect in any way, but I have to tell you that you can go to the graves of Mahammed or Budda or any false prophets and dig them up, but you go to Christs tomb and it's empty, why? because He rose from the dead and when you ask Christ into your life, you can be certain that you'll never question or doubt Him ever again!
But you have to take all these things that bothers you to Jesus in Prayer, and God WILL answer your prayers, according to His Will. If it weren't for Jesus love for me, I wouldn't be alive today, so, yes, I believe in miracles, but moreso I believe and know my Saviour and my God and His presence with me all the time.

I got tired of being told I wasn't "Christian enough" as a kid any time I questioned anything I didn't feel was right or accurate. So I converted to Judaism, and I don't get ANY of that from them. Judaism exncourages free thinking. You follow your own interpretaiton of the torah/tanakh, and no one tells you that you are wrong for your beliefs.
It really was the most liberating decision of my life to convert to Judaism.

No one should judge whether another is religiously practicing Christian. That is between God and the individual. As for being rejected by my church, or others of the same faith, I have never experienced it. As for showing me the door, if it ever comes to that, the church is doomed, because it, like individuals, has no right to judge others. That is going on in churches, I know, but that is why so many people call them hypocrites, which indeed they are.

Well, I am muslim and I know many muslims who are very strong in their faith. Mind you, I am a strong believer in my faith as well, but I'm not perfect, I have my faults when it comes to religion. Muslims who are more "religious" then me, have looked down on me in the past, and pointed a finger at me, saying that I should do so and so instead of what I'm actually doing because it goes against Islam. I hate when people look down on you because your at a different spiritual level as them. We are all different and are comfortable with our own ways of following our religion. They make me feel really bad about myself and make me feel as if I am a bad muslim, when deep down inside, I know I'm not. Our religion teaches us never to think of yourself as better than anyone, so I don't know how these people can call themselves muslim.

I am a non-denomiantional Christian. I follow the teachings of Christ, not the rules and regulations established by a particular church. I believe the Bible is the Word of the Lord, so I adhere to the principles established in it.

True Christians will not reject you. Some claim to be Christians, but don't have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I don't mind being rejected by my "faith family". The only One Whose judgment really matters is Jesus Christ.

never let iIt bother me, I believe what I believe and that is what I believe that God want me to believe. while some denominations say you can't take the bible literally, others say it means just what it say, I read the Bible and ask the Holy spirit to give me revelation into it, and that is what God wahts me to get out of that passage of scripture.
