everyone believes in something- be it God or eternal peace, or the banking system. i do not think that you can say "i just do not believe in anything". then how do you find sense in life, how do you keep your motivation? please, just tell me, do atheists just refuse to believe in God or do they just have no faith in anything?

How old are you and what ages are your children? Please explain your reasons for choosing to have children at the age that you did.

I am 25 and have a five year old and a nine month old. My husband and I chose to have children at an early age because we wanted to be sure that we would have the energy and the health to take care of them and so that by the time we are 50, they'll be out of the house so we can spend our golden years traveling by ourselves.

Alcoholics Anonymous make a special effort to seperate themselves from drugs and the drug addict. Many AA cult fanatics that are derilect and exhibit extreme "redneck" views of the world, only recognize other "drunks" as real and "honest" people while claiming NOT to be a drug addict. Why does contemporary AA and their ancient literature claim that alcohol is not a drug?

From observation on the US streets, the often very extreme anti-social behaviour that is shown by those intoxicated from alcohol is much worse than those under the influence of other mind altering substances like heroin or marijuana. Could it be that Jesus is responsible for this altered definition of "Drug"? Could it be that the AA cult is consistent with other cults with their attempts to re-define words to indoctrinate and deceive desperate drug addicts seeking change? Is nicotine a drug? In AA, I suppose it is not! It must be god or Jesus at work here!

Jesus, save me from the AA vampires! Take me home!

Moral is the subject for heated discussions all over the world nowadays, but is this a major component of our lives that we have been leaving behind, or is it just a mental and physical condition imposed by religions??

I know a person who insists on telling everyone about his running exploits...there's not a day goes by in which he doesn't insert into a conversation how many miles he ran, which marathon he recently completed (or will complete)...on top of this, he's not the world's greatest physical specimen, so the talk gets old.

I stay in shape, but I don't feel the need to tell the world how many minutes on the cardio machine I did.

Does anyone else find this annoying?

don't you ever feel that there's a demon inside you? controlling your whole being. It's an overwhelming feeling of power inside you that waits till you're no longer able to control it.

sometimes i attract negative vibes from people, i can feel their pain and sadness. the "inner demon"- a negative force that that lives in you. it makes you feel what other's are feeling even beyond your control.

Okay. So I'm looking through Yahoo Answers today, and I'm completely amazed by what I see. An inordinate amount of questions are:

"Why are Liberals (Democrats) so dumb?"
"Why are Conservatives (Republicans) so ignorant?"
"Why are Muslims trying to kill us all?"
"Why are Christians stupid?"
"Why are Athiests so blind?"

Black, white, hispanic, gay, straight, etc... we all seem to hate someone.

Now... overlay these questions against what's taking place in North America, and the rest of the world.

Rampant bi-partisanship has brought the US to a virtual standstill from the days 40 years ago when it was developing so fast it was unstoppable, and made the world a BETTER place.

People are rabid about their religion being the one, true, 'peaceful' religion... and they'll beat the crap out of anyone who says otherwise... and as such world is on edge because various races, religions, creeds and colors have a hate-on for someone else.

I guess this question has been asked before, but I have a very specific question. My understanding is that Christians believe that if you accept Jesus Christ as your savior you'll go to heaven and if you don't you'll go to hell -- regardless of what you have done in your life. So you could've murdered and raped numerous people and if you repent and accept Jesus - you go to Heaven, but say you've done nothing but good things are your life, but simply because you don't accept Jesus Christ -- you go to hell??

My question is -- if this is really true would Christ be the type of person you want to worship? Pardon me, but it sounds to me like he's the bully on the block who's making everyone yell "uncle" to get into Heaven.

This question is not meant to bash Christianity, but to get honest, insightful answers from people who have thought about this.
