He was a descendent of Abraham and jewish. Remember how jews were suppose to bring the Light to the gentiles? Remember Jesus describes himself as the "light"?

Also in the book of enoch it says hes as white as wool.

After slavery, it was african americans white people feared and hated,

after WWI, it was the jews,

after WWII(pearl harbor) it was japanese americans,

after 9/11, it was the muslims...

why do white people just have to fear and hate someones race or religion? other than a few, i believe white people do not a pure intent in their heart, and as a black woman, i've always looked at the race as a group of people filled with so much hatred and evil intent that they have to have a "bad guy" in order to do people harm. it always has to be a "bad guy" of the moment for white people to fear...

yet they do soooo much harm to sooo many people. sick things that i never thought humans could do. rape rob and pilliage has been thier creed since the beginning of time. i just wonder what makes them this way?

Everytime I read a racist question the person is always trying to compensate for their hate and make an excuse for it. Why can't they understand that there is no excuse?

Hi

To my understanding, an idiom is a metaphor with non-productive syntactic structure. Most commonly used as a way to make a metaphoric obscure description. A typical idiom as I understand it would be: " Straight from the horse's mouth", used to indicate that information is given in the first person and therefore true.

However, I have noticed that idioms can become even more obscured in common speach and as a result changed. The only two I know of are as follows:

He did all the work 'straight of his own back'.

The true idiom being 'straight of his own bat'.

Also, it is common escpecially in the UK to hear the phrase 'bone idle', when the correct idiom is actually 'born idle'. As a reader you can clearly see the latter and correct idiom 'born' makes sense whereas 'bone' does not.

'Bone idle' and 'of his own back' are commonly used, but incorrect. They are the only two I know of and I would be interested in anyone knows any more?

Thanks.

I recently moved into a new apartment. My phone service was transferred to my new address. A technician came out located the phone line for my new apartment. A member from my church (a retired phone technician) installed a jack in my apartment. Two days later my neighbor complained of not having phone service and feels that the installation of the jack in my apartment caused the disruption to her service. We have different phone companies. When her phone is plugged into the customer side of the phone box outside she gets a dial tone, but her cordless phone inside her apartment gives a "no line" message on her caller id. I called my phone company and was told that my transfer of service and installation of the jack had nothing to do with her problem. Her company wants to charge her to check it out. I have offered to pay the cost if she can prove my installation caused her problem. It's been a week and a no show from her company.

Last week I asked (on this board) for everyone to pray for world peace. This week we have a cease fire. Did our prayers cause the cease fire, or promote the cease fire, or have any effect at all? I think there is a God who listens and I know our prayers didn't hurt the situation, but did they help? I hope so! what do you think?

The rainbow. People use it behind avitars for Christian, or Gay or Metiphysical and I think Irish. What is the signifigance of each. I did not want to post it because I was hoping to get intelligent meaningful answers as to what it actually means not just symbolizies for each group.

Any takers? What does it mean for any group even not listed?

Now where to put this question is another questions. Please forgive me if I am not perfect.

1. Christians will be insulted by anything that's true about their belief. So why even try not to insult them. The truth is more important than them getting upset

2. Theists have been lying about Atheists, insulting Atheists longer and more often than us Atheists could ever down play them.

3. Positive change can be painful. If their feeling are hurt because someone told the blunt truth, it can only lead to critical thinking.

4. Pretending their belief is not stupid is only deceiving them. That would make us just as bad as the crooked pastors

I heard this once before and I would like your opinions:

"That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day"

Food had been regularly disappearing from the refregerator at work, labeled with people's names. A coworker gets transferred temporarily to another office for two months. The missing food problem stops. She comes back and it starts again. I go into the lunch room and she is munching down an ice cream sandwich and furtively tosses something in the trash. After she leaves I check the trash and in it is a label with a different coworker's name. I find out later that coworker had not eaten her ice cream sandwich (left from an office party) and didn't know it was gone. If I tell anyone, the food thief will know who told. She is a higher ranking employee than I am. What do I do?
