The rainbow. People use it behind avitars for Christian, or Gay or Metiphysical and I think Irish. What is the signifigance of each. I did not want to post it because I was hoping to get intelligent meaningful answers as to what it actually means not just symbolizies for each group.

Any takers? What does it mean for any group even not listed?

Now where to put this question is another questions. Please forgive me if I am not perfect.

It originally meant God's covenant with man via Noah that He would never flood the world again.

Foremost, it signifies hope for all of the aforementioned groups. I believe that the Irish use stems from the legend of the leprechaun's gold at the end of the rainbow.

The rainbow was God's symbol in the clouds that He would never again flood the entire earth with water. That was it's first meaning!

A covenant God made with Noah after the forty days and nights of flooding. has nothing to do with gays and lesbians.
Nothing wrong with ur question. Educational for some with small minds.

I always thought it meant like everyone is welcome, the colors of the rainbow. usually in history gay or lesbian is like a curse and people would use black or white....but now it's a rainbow that means everyone is accepted to the society no matter what they are....
