I think the two ideas are confused often?

Absolutely not. Shy can mean she has a lack of self-esteem. Many girls lacking self-esteem try to find acceptance through affection, sex, etc. Not all, but quite a few.
If you're asking about a particular girl, your best hope of finding out whether or not she's a good girl is by just taking the time to try and get to know her. Joke w/ her to help her open up to you and take it from there.

I am not sure. I sometimes get very shy around people I don't know. Unless the person is polite and calm.
And through out my childhood I was shy and still a good girl. In fact, all my friends told me they were tired of their mothers telling them they should be more polite and good like me!
I was never sure whether to be flattered or embarrassed.
So I guess it just depends on the girl. And how she was brought up.

If a girl is shy, it doesn't means that she is good. She is probably faking it all out. Contrastly a good girl doesn't have to be shy. We could have our good points from some factor cos nobody is perfect.

I have to agree they are often confused i have dated a couple of 'shy' girls who are NOT what i would call 'good girls'.

I speak from experience. Watch out for those shy ones. They can turn vicious at a moments notice.
