The husband/father is abusing his wife and child. Counseling doesn't help as he sees the problem is his wife and son. Is it wrong in God's eyes for the woman to divorce her husband for the child's sake? Or does God say stay in the marriage and let the abuse continue?

I visited a friedn of mine who is a muslim. And as a gift i bought him a tie. Once he opened it, he saw the tie and smiled and said thank you but returned it back. I asked him why. He apologized and said that muslim men are not suppose to use silk. I bought him a silk tie. Then he added that the men are also not supposed to use gold. Gheezzzzzzz....is this true? Anyway i took back the tie.

My grandfather wants me to start going to church. But that isn't the worse part. He wants me to be saved. I went to church with him a year ago and hated it.
I don't want to be "saved". Apparently I might be cut out of his will if i don't start going on a regular basis. Which would be fine with me. How can you be in someone's will if they don't know your name after 20 years.

So the problem is that no one in my family actually knows that i am an atheist.
How do I get out of going to church and getting signed up for baptism, with anyone finding out that I am an atheist?

And also i keep it quiet because it just makes my life easier.

Where I say "to keep us from God", I wanted to say "to keep us from *believing* in God" but couldn't say it that way because of the usual Q-box 110-character limit.

Linen? Cotton? Silk? Any difference between the ones that Arabs wear and the ones Sikhs wear? What significance do the different colors have? Will settle for a good link if you don't have time to type.

Notice the word: ANOTHER?

John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

another means = another one.
if the comforter is the holyspirit as John has claimed, then why would Jesus call the holyspirit with another?

It consists of Pagan symbols made from marshmallows, and little fiber based crucifixes. The message being that although Paganism may taste good, it'll rot your teeth out, while Christianity, although not as tasty will keep you regular.
What do you think?
